Costume Designers Guild to Honor Best Dressed at Comic-Con 2013 During Masquerade Ball

Going on their eighth consecutive year, the Costume Designers Guild (Local 892) of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees will be attending Comic-Con 2013. With panels on both Friday and Saturday, the CDG is expected to have a greater presence than ever before, featuring top costume designers and illustrators from film and television. The CDG will also be honoring the best dressed cosplayers attending SDCC this year and the Hall Costume Awards at the 2013 Masquerade Ball. More details after the jump.

Costume design is one of the most important aspects in entertainment today, but at times it can be highly overlooked and under appreciated. It takes great skill and craftsmanship to develop full wardrobes that create an aesthetic that matches the stylistic endeavors the director intends to portray. Without a well-thought out costume design, whether it be on TV or film, the faulty looking costumes can take you right out of the story and ruin tone. It’s a good thing we have such hardworking professionals to share their wisdom this year at Comic-Con.
