San Diego Comic-Con 2013 is only a week away and Marvel Studios is supplying fans a tease of the much anticipated Captain America: The Winter Soldier with its first poster. Since production began three months ago and the first still arrived, we can most likely expect our first look at footage from The Winter Solider and perhaps even a teaser trailer. For now, check out the full teaser poster after the jump.
The Hall H panels from Marvel never disappoint and it would be only appropriate for the powerhouse studio to give the world a taste of what we can expect from the Captain America sequel during the big event. The teaser poster doesn’t give fans of the movies much of an indicator as to what they can expect, but for those who have read the Winter Soldier storyline know exactly where this film is headed. To reveal what happens would be giving away almost too much.
We’ll have to wait just one more week until footage hopefully arrives. This teaser poster suggests that the Captain will see some darker times ahead and it will not be an easy path to justice. Superhero sequels always seem to be angsty and full of pain, stripped down, much like our hero’s shield here. It’s a well illustrated poster, but I wish it gave us a little more than a beat up shield. I’m sure by the time the footage ends in Hall H my head will have exploded three times.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Captain America: The Winter Soldier stars Chris Evans as the iconic Steve Rogers aka Captain America. Alongside Evans, we’ll see the return of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Scarlett Johnasson as Black Widow, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier. Rounding out the cast is also Hayley Atwell, Emily VanCamp, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Cobie Smulders, Toby Jones, and Robert Redford.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens in US theaters everywhere on April 4, 2014.
