Empty your wallets and check your bank accounts, it’s time to see what’s Now Available To Own for the week of September 3, 2013. Each week we run down new releases in movies, television series, and video games that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home. On shelves this week, you can find titles such as From Up On Poppy Hill, Now You See Me, The Vampire Diaries Season 4, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 8, and Rayman Legends. Check out the complete list of new releases after the jump.

Blu-Ray Movies

Now You See Me – One of the biggest let downs of the year. With such great talent, the cast had little chemistry and the entire movie felt like you were watching the special effects team work their magic, not the actors. The Blu-ray does offer an extended edition, which houses almost six extra minutes of footage. I doubt that is enough to save the movie, but there are over 30 minutes of deleted scenes if you can believe that.

From Up On Poppy Hill – Check out Hayao Miyazaki’s son’s second feature film as director. If you love the smaller, more grounded Studio Ghibli films, this is one you should definitely check out. The Special Edition Blu-ray even has over 3 hours of bonus features too. In crisp Blu-ray, the 2D world of Studio Ghibli never looked better.

The Lords of Salem – Somebody needs to put Rob Zombie on a leash. What happened to the man who did a spectacular remake of Halloween or completely disturbed audiences with The Devil’s Rejects?

The Iceman – Michael Shannon attempts to heat up this dull crime drama, but it can’t get past luke warm temperatures.

Sharknado – See the SyFy original movie on Blu-ray that everyone was talking about for two days that sparked a phenomena that lasted a month.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective – Excuse me, but may I ass a couple of questions as to why this wasn’t on Blu-ray yet? This is Jim Carrey at his finest. Where else are you going to find a crime drama about [SPOILER ALERT] a psychopath, transvestite ex-Miami Dolphin.

The Fugitive (20th Anniversary Edition) – Tommy Lee Jones has to make money some how these days.

Idle Hands – Here’s a classic, underrated teen sex, horror comedy starring Seth Green, Jessica Alba, and Vivica A. Fox, along with Devon Sawa – who apparently stars in Nikita now – as the lead hero. Fun fact: the director Rodman Flender directed Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop.

The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Fourth Season – For some reason I want to believe that this show is good. It has to be after sprouting four seasons right? Nina Dobrev is pretty, there’s that.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The Complete Eighth Season – It’s amazing that these sociopaths have made it through eight seasons. It’s not a show I enjoy binging, but it’s a great show to take in strides.

Revolution: The Complete First Season – This show just hit Netflix, so if you are worried that it will be canceled after the second season and want to save your money, there’s that option.

Video Games

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate – An updated version of DOA5, this expanded version hosts a few new modes; several new stages and fighters, including Ninja Gaiden’s Momiji and Rachel, and Virtua Fighter’s Jacky Byrant; as well as all-new features like two-on-two online multiplayer tag team battles. (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360)

Rayman Legends – The fifth installment of the popular Rayman series offers four-player co-op, 3D boss battles, Rayman Rocks mini-games, and a new online challenge mode. This looks to be the most ambitious Rayman yet.  (PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, and Xbox 360)

Diablo III – The highly anticipated third entry of the  fan favorite RPG franchise is here console gamers. It is also expected to release for PS4 too. (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360)
