A group of young filmmakers and comedy hooligans put together an amazing parody entitled The Wolf of BuzzFeed. Still fresh enough to be relevant, the folks at Half Day Today did an incredible job spoofing The Wolf of Wall Street. There is a hilarious amount of satire to be found and you can watch the video after the break. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU1EiKys_Uk I give these guys props for a creative concept that nails Martin Scorsese’s tone while putting BuzzFeed in their crosshairs. Many people have criticized BuzzFeed’s ability to come up with real content beyond their lists and quizzes. Regadless, I would say they know their audience and are killing it. The actors in this parody also do a fine job as Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill. The Wolf of Wall Street just hit home video last week, so this is perfect timing for writers/directors of the parody Brad Woolf and Dan Borrelli to gain exposure for their work. If there was one thing they were missing from this video was cats. Instead of cocaine, they could have introduced hordes and hordes of cats. What would have also been funny is if 4chan or Reddit came in to investigate their operation as the FBI characters. Founder and CEO of BuzzFeed Jonah Peretti liked it though it was a good laugh. Atomic did an amazing job with their parody of The Social Network, satirizing Greek life in college and calling it The Brocial Network. Classic. Half Day Today seems to have just started, but have a good handful of funny spoofs and original shorts.
