The first teaser posters for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot have appeared. Each features the hand of Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael equipped with their own respective weapons and colors. Check ’em out after the break.
As movie posters go, these are pretty tame. I think the marketing team is playing it as safe as possible, trying not to rape people’s childhoods anymore than what the teaser trailer has already done. At least it’s not the standard orange and blue; we’ll probably see that in the next poster.
By only showing their hands and iconic weapons, folks can resonate visually to what we already know about the lean, green fighting machines. A fan has already Photoshopped the Shrek-like faces of Leonardo and Michelangelo to resemble the more familiar character designs; their work was met with much praise. At least they got their hands and weapons right.

Here is the official plot synopsis courtesy of CBM Trailers where the trailer debuted:
The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.
Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Megan Fox, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, Whoopi Goldberg, Pete Ploszek, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, and Danny Woodburn. It was recently announced Johnny Knoxville will voice Leonardo, replacing Ploszek’s voice; and Tony Shaloub will be voicing Master Splinter, replacing Woodburn’s voice.
