E3 2014: ‘Assassin’s Creed: Unity’ Announcement Trailer (132 Screenshots)

E3 2014 Assassin's Creed Unity Announement Trailer

Ubisoft’s latest addition to the much beloved franchise, Assassin’s Creed, was unveiled earlier this morning during the Microsoft press conference. But during the Ubisoft presser, gamers got a more cinematic look at Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Check out the full trailer, along with over 100 screenshots, after the break.

Seeing the four assassins work together in a gameplay demo is one thing, but seeing them in a cinematic trailer is simply a spectacle to behold. Like many of the trailers from entries past, Unity sets a dark and serious tone – this time set to the tune of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Lorde, and luckily not “Do you Hear the People Sing” from Les Misérables. Seeing the four stand tall next to each other at the end looking over France is spine-tingling.

Powered by the all new Anvil engine, Assassin’s Creed: Unity brings fans of the series to the French Revolution in the late eighteenth century. Rebuilt from the ground up for next gen consoles, players will be able to storm Bastille and experience the French Revolution like never before.

Here is the official plot synopsis for Assassin’s Creed: Unity, courtesy of Ubisoft:

Paris, 1789. The French Revolution turns a once-magnificent city into a place of terror and chaos. Its cobblestoned streets run red with the blood of commoners who dare to rise up against an oppressive aristocracy. Yet as the nation tears itself apart, a young man named Arno will embark upon an extraordinary journey to expose the true powers behind the Revolution. His pursuit will throw him into the middle of a ruthless struggle for the fate of a nation, and transform him into a true Master Assassin.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity is available on October 28, 2014 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
