11. Once Upon a Time in the West, Blazing Saddles, The Searches, and A Man Called Horse inspired The Old West realm scenes.
12. The original whistler from the Ennio Morricone soundtracks was called in to help in the music in The Old West.
13. Fabuland (one of the realms in the LEGO universe) animal heads are hanging on the walls of the saloon in The Old West.
14. Right before Emmet, Wyldstyle, and Vitruvius escape The Old West and crash their getaway vehicle into the train, one of the pigs that are in the shot as they fall crashes onto the ground and turns into sausages.
15. There was an early draft of the script where Metal Beard was Wyldstyle’s boyfriend.
16. Chris Miller drew the art for Emmet’s plans to invade President Business’ Infinity Tower.
17. Metal Beard explains that the first law of the sea is that you “Never place your rear end on a pirate face.” The other four laws he does not state are: “Never put ye hand in a clam’s mouth,” Never release a kraken,” Always abandon a lost cause,” and Never wear a dress on a Tuesday.”
18. Anytime you see Emmet with a seam in the middle of his hair in the real world it’s a CGI version of the character.
19. When Emmet is shaking to try and get off the table in the real world, director Chris Miller is under the table with a magnet moving the LEGO character around who has a magnet inside of him for the effect.
19. All versions of Unikitty include: Seasick Kitty, Business Kitty, Space Kitty, and Angry Kitty.
20. There was a contest for LEGO fans to create fifteen second short films. A handful were chosen to be shown in the background of Emmet’s hero monologue against President Business and on the giant TV billboards in the city.
21. If you look closely when all of the LEGO characters are celebrating their victory you can see two LEGO characters that resemble Phil Lord and Chris Miller standing in front of Batman. This was against their will because they don’t like to “Shyamalan” themselves into their movies.
22. The end credits sequence is actual LEGOs shot in stop animation.
23. Animators made 150 different versions of Emmet’s hair before they decided on his particular look.
