The Netflix Streaming Report: Tarzan, Wolf Creek 2, Gambit, and More

The Streaming Report Tarzan, Wolf Creek 2, Gambit, and More

Welcome to The Streaming Report for June 26, 2014. After the long week you deserve a relaxing staycation with a bowl of popcorn, a bucket of ice cream, and only your Netflix queue to judge you. This past week, Netflix Watch Instant has been kind enough to supply us with Tarzan, Wolf Creek 2, Gambit, and more, which you’ll find out if you should watch ’em after the break.

Tarzan (Chris Buck and Kevin Lima) A man raised by gorillas must decide where he really belongs when he discovers he is a human. Starring Tony Goldwyn, Minnie Driver, and Brian Blessed

This is not a standout Disney Animation film, but it’s decent nonetheless. The sequel is also available on Netflix if you care to indulge your animal instincts. (Watch it now)

Red vs. Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronics (Season 1-5) (Burnie Burns) After the Halo event of 2552, there is a brief but violent period of civil war among the humans. Two armies on opposite sides of a canyon, the Reds and Blues, fight in the most worthless piece of real estate in the galaxy. Stars: Burnie Burns, Jason Saldaña, Gustavo Sorola

I’ve never seen this series, but it has twelve seasons. So it must be worth the watch if you love the Halo video games, yeah? (Watch it now)

Gambit (Michael Hoffman) An art curator decides to seek revenge on his abusive boss by conning him into buying a fake Monet, but his plan requires the help of an eccentric and unpredictable Texas rodeo queen. Starring Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, and Alan Rickman

I don’t know how I’ve never heard of this film before, but it has an amazing cast sans Cameron Diaz, and it was written by the Coen brothers. The premise sounds pretty boring though. But that Alan Rickman though. (Watch it now)

Wolf Creek 2 (Greg Mclean) The outback once more becomes a place of horror as another unwitting tourist becomes the prey for crazed, serial-killing pig-hunter Mick Taylor. Starring John Jarratt, Ryan Corr, and Shannon Ashlyn

I sort of dug the original? I can’t really remember, it’s been a really long time. It was very bleak and it’s always on many people’s horror lists. I would saay give this a go if you’re really bored. (Watch it now)

XXX State of the Union Ice Cube

XXX: State of the Union (Lee Tamahori) Darius Stone, a new agent in the XXX program, is sent to Washington, DC to defuse a power struggle amongst national leaders. Starring Ice Cube, Samuel L. Jackson, and Willem Dafoe

You are being forewarned, if you try to find a GIF for this movie you will find some interesting results. I’m sure this movie is terrible. But it has an interesting cast and the screenwriter is Simon Kinberg who wrote X-Men: Days of Future Past – he must have an affinity with that letter – so it can’t be that bad yeah? (Watch it now)

What will you be watching this weekend?

Look forward to more new titles from The Streaming Report every Thursday on TTRC. We hope you enjoy!
