Okay. Three. Two. One. Let’s jam! Funimation announced today their plans to rerelease, in beautiful HD, one of the most celebrated anime series of our time, Cowboy Bebop. Since its original run from 1997 to 1998, nothing has truly compared to this hip, futuristic space western noir. After the jump, check out what special features come packaged with the premium edition when it releases on December 16.
I remember staying up late, watching Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and being amazed by the sheer vibrant story telling that is Cowboy Bebop. I had seen nothing like it at the time. The music; the fluidity of the hand drawn space battles and fight sequences; and the incredibly written characters are just a fraction of the elements that make up this series. It’s love at first sight. And to watch Cowboy Bebop in high definition, I can only imagine my eyeballs melting from pure joy.

Directed by Shinichirō Watanabe and starring the English voice cast of Cowboy Bebop, Steve Blum, Beau Billingslea, Wendee Lee, Melissa Fahn, Paul St. Peter, and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, here is official plot synopsis for Adventure Time Season 4:
Explore the far reaches of the galaxy in this undeniably hip series that inspired a generation – and redefined anime as an indisputable art form. The Bebop crew is just trying to make a buck. This motley lot of intergalactic loners teams up to track down fugitives and turn them in for cold hard cash. Spike is a hero whose cool façade hides a dark and deadly past. The pilot Jet is a bruiser of a brute who can’t wait to collect the next bounty. Faye Valentine is a femme fatale prone to breaking hearts and separating fools from their money. Along for the ride are the brilliant, but weird, hacker Ed and a super-genius Welsh Corgi named Ein. On their own, any one of them is likely to get lost in the sprawl of space, but together, they’re they most entertaining gang of bounty hunters in the year 2071.
Cowboy Bebop The Complete Series Blu-ray/DVD combo set will be available to own on December 16 via Funimation.
