In anticipation of Crunchyroll Expo coming to San Jose on September 1-3, it was revealed that the first two episodes of “Double Decker! Doug & Kirill” would make their big debut. Announced earlier this year as a spin-off from Sunrise’s 2011 anime series “Tiger & Bunny,“ the series is set to take place in the same universe based on this new dynamic duo Doug and Kirill. Sunrise President & CEO Yasuo Miyakawa revealed that Sunrise will be working in partnership alongside Legendary Entertainment on the first official live-action Gundam movie. Legendary’s Executive Vice President of Production, Cale Boyter, and Bandai Namco President Mitsuaki Taguchi also appeared at the panel to confirm the news with former Bandai Entertainment Director of Marketing and current Legendary Comics’ Senior Vice President of Publishing, Robert Napton moderating the panel. If there is one franchise that has taken movie fans on a roller coaster ride through development hell it’s been the live-action adaptation of the acclaimed anime series Cowboy Bebop. The film took a big step forward today as 20th Century Fox has tapped director Matthew Vaughn to helm the project. Vaughn will also be co-writing the script with longtime collaborator Jane Goldman.
