Fox Searchlight Pictures 20th Anniversary Collection Arrives December 9

Fox Searchlight 20th Anniversary Blu-Ray Box Set

Where does the time go? How can Fox Searchlight be celebrating 20 years already? From Garden State to Juno to Black Swan, Fox Searchlight has produced some of the best indie pictures around. And on December 9 you can own 20 of them in an impressive Blu-ray Anniversary Collection. After the jump, find out which iconic films will be included as well as other exclusives.

Without indie pictures, we would most likely be stuck with big budget action movies and cheesy romantic comedies all year round. Thankfully we have independent studios that capture more intimate moments of human nature and bring raw emotion to the cinemas. I’ve seen about three-quarters of the films listed below, and can fully recommend most of them – I wasn’t a fan of Beasts of the Southern Wild at all. However, 12 Years a Slave, Juno, 28 Days Later, (500) Days of Summer, Black Swan, and The Descendants are all fantastic movies.

Along with 20 of the best indies from the past 20 years, Fox Searchlight will also provide movie fans with an exclusive 98-minute, Blu-ray bonus disc documentary, “We Have Your Story.” Chronicling Fox Searchlight’s extensive catalog, “We Have Your Story” highlights stories from the filmmakers, actors, and the films themselves.

The 20 movies included in the Anniversary Collection are:

  • The Brothers McMullen
  • Garden State
  • The Full Monty
  • Little Miss Sunshine
  • Boys Don’t Cry
  • The Last King of Scotland
  • 28 Days Later
  • Once
  • Sideways
  • Juno
  • Napoleon Dynamite
  • Slumdog Millionaire
  • (500) Days of Summer
  • The Descendants
  • Crazy Heart
  • The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
  • 127 Hours
  • Beasts of the Southern Wild
  • Black Swan
  • 12 Years A Slave
