ABC Family’s ’13 Nights of Halloween’ Marathon Returns October 19-31

Like their 25 Days of Christmas marathon, ABC Family loves to celebrate its spookier programming. Starting today, October 19, ABC Family will embark on their 16th annual 13 Nights of Halloween. Along with the network TV premieres of Dark Shadows and ParaNorman, there will also be special Halloween episodes of Melissa & Joey, Baby Daddy, and Pretty Little Liars. The best part about this Halloween marathon is that it gives us the first of two reasons this year to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas. And for those who have missed Pixar’s Toy Story of TERROR! will have a few chances to watch the spooktacular short film.

What surprises me most about this special programming is the fact that they’ll be showing Poltergeist. It’s a pretty terrifying film for those who don’t invest their time like me in watching horror movies.

And of course, next weekend people will be buzzing a storm up about Hocus Pocus this and Hocus Pocus that when it plays both Saturday and Sunday.

And one more thing, The Hunger Games isn’t exactly family oriented either; that’s quite the odd pick that Disney snagged the rights to air.
