Who knew Clay Matthews, David Bakhtiari, TJ Lang, Josh Sitton, Don Barclay, and Jordan Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers had the power of singing covers of songs without any instruments, but from their mouths. The latest teaser of Pitch Perfect 2 came unexpectedly during Super Bowl XLIX today and welcomed the Barden Bellas into the big leagues. Check out the trailer after the break and see why the Packers are too Bootylicious for you.
Talk about throwing in a timely TV spot to convince football fans to see a movie about competitive a cappella. Even I had my doubts about the first film and was blown away with how unexpectedly hilarious it turned out to be. But now the element of surprise has been used up in the first Pitch Perfect and other means of hooking audiences in must be utilized a la the Green Bay Packers.
Pitch Perfect 2 is pulling out all the stops to prove it wasn’t a one hit wonder, and I think the way the marketing is shaping up – watch the first trailer – it definitely has the potential to be another hit. I mean come on, it’s practically Rocky IV based on its internationally competitive agenda. My only hope is there is a character named Drago.
