Jared Leto Teases Joker Makeover for ‘Suicide Squad’

Jared Leto's Joker Makeover

Suicide Squad star Jared Leto is getting more and more into character for his role as The Joker these days. The actor has been teasing his fans one picture at a time through his various social media channels. Along with his recent homage to Alan Moore’s graphic novel The Killing Joke, this latest Snapchat is our best look we’ve had so far. See for yourself after the jump.

As you can see in the image below, Leto is donning the infamous green hair. It also appears as though he has shaved eyebrows and packing some bright red lips. While this may seem like a poor punk fashion statement for some, many Batman fans will recognize this color scheme and style as the iconic look for the nemesis of the world’s greatest detective. This is certainly a big departure for the Thirty Seconds to Mars crooner.

This teaser photo from Leto is actually quite similar to the one posted on Twitter by director David Ayer earlier this month. Leto was pictured with a Nikon camera and green hair (not yet adorned with the clown’s ruby red lips) in a pose that looked to be an honor The Killing Joke.

However, this does not necessarily mean that this will be the final look of the Joker we will see in Suicide Squad. In fact, the photos Leto has provided has so far appeared to be a work in progress. That being said, no word yet on what Dead Shot, Harley Quinn, Enchantress, or any of the other Suicide Squad members will look like. Ayer did, however, take a nice group shot with the full lead cast sans Leto a day before his Killing Joke pic.

Directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney as George “Digger” Harkness aka Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as June Moone aka Enchantress, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Waylon Jones aka Killer Croc. This movie is set to be released in theaters on August 5, 2016.
