OLAF’S FROZEN ADVENTURE Seeks to Create a Holiday Tradition

In an unprecedented move, Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios are working in collaboration this holiday season for the betterment of mankind. This November 22 when Pixar’s Coco hits the big screen, WDAS’s latest entry into the Frozen-verse, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, will play in front as the appetizer. Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) had their fun in 2015’s short Frozen Fever, and now it’s Olaf’s (Josh Gad) turn to take the spotlight.

As seen in the trailer, Olaf is in search of a tradition the sisters can partake in that will best represent their values and heart since they never really celebrated the holidays. Hijinks ensue. And do we see a glimpse of Hans with a new family?

This new Olaf-centric feature will be much longer than the typical short we’re used to seeing in front of Pixar and WDAS features. Directed by the duo behind Prep and Landing, Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers-Skelton, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure will run at a cool 21-minutes and will feature four new original songs. Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson, the team behind the “Between the Lines” musical, are the maestro’s behind the new songs.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, courtesy of Walt Disney Animation Studios:

Olaf teams up with Sven on a merry mission in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 21-minute featurette “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.” It’s the first holiday season since the gates reopened and Anna and Elsa host a celebration for all of Arendelle. When the townspeople unexpectedly leave early to enjoy their individual holiday customs, the sisters realize they have no family traditions of their own. So, Olaf sets out to comb the kingdom to bring home the best traditions and save this first Christmas for his friends.

Directed by Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers-Skelton, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure stars Josh Gad, Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Jonathan Groff. The featurette will play in front of Coco on November 22, 2017.
