2010 Academy Award Nominated Best Animated Short – Logorama

One of the Oscar-nominated films, Logorama, for the best animated short has popped up online. It is pretty cool and would only assume that it has at least over 1,000 different logos from all sorts of areas in it. Written and directed by the French team of François Alaux and Herve de Crecy, this little film took a few years to create.

I’m guessing due to copyright laws and hunting down the right people to be able to use the logos. And the animation itself is pretty neatly done. There are so many logos in this, one could assume that it is flooded with so many brands that it is trying to tell us that we are bombarded with so much crap these days that it just destroys and desensitizes us. Clíché? Maybe? That’s probably too obvious that it’s right. You are probably calling me an idiot and saying, DUH, right now.

Check it out after the jump!

Lost’s Last Supper

The final season of Lost is coming upon us very soon and the marketers/cast/writers/etc decided to shoot two ‘last supper’ pictures to promote the final season I would assume. They are pretty cool and this has been done before with Battlestar Galatica, The Soprano’s, and House (although I’m not sure if House has had a last season or is on it’s last season yet). Iron Man 2 Viral Part 2

Iron Man 2 is getting hot, but at the same time leaving everyone in the cold. WHAT DO THESE CLUES MEAN?!?!?!?!? This second poster reveals very little with just another highlighted word and a possible Thor like connection?! Ugh. Revert back to this old post from a few days ago and see if you can make the connection!

Iron Man 2 Gets Some Marketing Done

Not only does Whiplash, played by Mickey Rourke, in Iron Man 2 get his own poster, but let the VIRAL MARKETING BEGIN!!! Hurray! I love viral marketing. It makes movies more interesting and fun sometimes if it allows a good build up of story and information leading to the end result which is the film. I can’t wait to see where this goes. Check out the beginning of the viral marketing at the bottom.

Documentary: Art & Copy ~ Official Trailer

Opening in limited theaters on August 21st. Directed by Doug Pray, Art & Copy reveals the work and wisdom of some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time — people who’ve profoundly impacted our culture, yet are virtually unknown outside their industry

Exploding forth from advertising’s “creative revolution” of the 1960s, these artists and writers all brought a surprisingly rebellious spirit to their work in a business more often associated with mediocrity or manipulation: George Lois, Mary Wells, Dan Wieden, Lee Clow, Hal Riney and others featured in the film were responsible for “Just Do It,” “I Love NY,” “Where’s the Beef?,” “Got Milk,” “Think Different,” and brilliant campaigns for everything from cars to presidents. They managed to grab the attention of millions and truly move them.

Visually interwoven with their stories, TV satellites are launched, billboards are erected, and the social and cultural impact of their ads are brought to light in this dynamic exploration of art, commerce, and human emotion.

Annual Saw Blood Drive For Saw VI

With a new Saw film coming out comes another blood drive for the Red Cross. Their slogan, “Give ‘Til it Hurts.” The annual Saw Nurse is in full fashion as she shows off her amazing syringe dress. Saw VI comes to theaters October 23.

This years ad campaign was created by Ignition Print and was photographed by Co-President of Marketing Tim Palen… and it’s the wildest yet with the SAW nurse sporting a uniform you wont see at just any old doctors office. Thats because its designed by the downtown NY fashion darlings The Blonds, the corset kings who have outfitted the likes of Beyonce, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

Slap Chop Viral Used for Commercial Use

Slap Chop Remix Viral

Ok, so this started off as a mock/parody/remix viral video containing the infomercial of Slap Chop with the Shamwow guy, Vince Shlomi. It is now 2:14 am and I’m watching television and this remix appeared as a commercial. At first I thought it would be just a short clip of it to promote maybe Tosh.0 or Web Soup, but nope. I don’t know if Slap Chop can buy the rights to a viral video or something, but they actually used it for their advertisement and it was legit. I could only assume that some companies are now going to use “Sneezing Panda” or “Afro Ninja” for advertising next. Why Not?
