Those lovely ladies from Team Unicorn (Rileah Vanderbilt, Michele Boyd, Milynn Sarley, Clare Grant) are back and ready to spread holiday cheer! Team Unicorn’s second debut video has a little over three-quarters of a million views, a little slower recognition than their first video, ‘Geek and Gamer Girls,’ but still a quality video. Like the Unicorn, hot geek girls should not exist, and this is Team Unicorn’s mission to spread the awareness. Watch their zombie PSA after the jump!
Team Unicorn, a group of lovely ladies promoting the existence of Gamer/Geek girls in the world, have come together to create a parody video of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls.” This is just the start of what I would assume to be an ongoing collaboration of musical numbers, skits, and fun videos expressing the love of gamer/geek girls. The core group consists of Michele Boyd (The Guild), Clare Grant (Robot Chicken), Milynn Sarley, and Rileah Vanderbilt (Hatchet).
Their big hit debut, “G33k & G4m3r Girls” also known as the “Geek and Gamer Girls Song,” was directed by David Yarvo and premiered early September. Within a week, the music video gained over one million views on Break.com. With appearances by Seth Green (husband of Clare Grant), Stan Lee, and Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff, full nerdery was in order. Check out the awesome video after the break!
Chicago’s Second City has started their own network of web videos and the one that tickled my funny bone was their “Sassy Gay Friend” series. Brian Gallivan stars as the gay friend and helps resolve sticky situations for women from past stories such as Adam and Eve, Romeo & Juliet and Hamlet. The Second City is no stranger to hilarious content and perhaps this is their response to Adam McKay’s Funny or Die, but they still have a bit to go if they want to get to that level. Check out a few of the “Sassy Gay Friend” episodes after the break and visit TheSecondCityNetwork for more videos.
