Celebrate Halloween With a ‘Trick ‘r Treat’ 24-Hour Marathon on FEARnet

Trick 'r Treat Sam

Breaking through the static of mainstream horror of all its splatterore porn and “found footage” films is a tough business to be had. One man dared to dream, Michael Dougherty. Today, October 31, 2012, FEARnet brings you a 24-hour marathon of his film Trick ‘r Treat, which I can honestly say is one of the best horror films of the modern era.

The writer of X-Men and X2:X-Men United, has created one of the best seasonal horror films that will delight even the greatest of haters. Bringing together four stories to tie into the spirit of the season, Dougherty has visualized a film that not only brings out the best in holiday of Halloween, but captures its essence only some horror has dreamed of.

Plot synopsis via IMDb and chopped up so it doesn’t give away too much:

Four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband, and more!

Teased back a few months ago by FEARnet, this 24-hour marathon brought Dougherty’s sack-boy Sam back to terrorize suburbia and ensure this holiday season was not ruined. This clever little marketing ploy is gleefully delightful in so many horrific ways:

FEARnet had also created another little fun short that markets the 24-hour Trick ‘r Treat marathon that shows that making friends is easier than you think. Watch “Making Friends” to get your blood pumping for all the excitement today has to offer!

If you don’t have FEARnet on your local cable provider you can check it out on Netflix Watch Instant! And if you have no idea what this movie is about, behold the trailer for Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat:
