We’re almost there. With just a few waning months until the summer, Marvel’s The Avengers is creeping up faster than you can say “excelsior!” As one of the most anticipated films of the year, this trailer is packed full of visual eye candy to hold you over until May.

It took a lot of convincing for me to actually take a peek at this trailer. As I did so in the past, I actually have no real context as to what is happening in the trailer because I browsed through it frame by frame without sound. I am trying to avoid movie trailers for the most part, but I just couldn’t say “no” to The Avengers.

I hate to say this, but I might actually be looking forward to The Avengers more than The Dark Knight Rises. Being able to finally see how Marvel will mesh all of their movie properties together to culminate into a singular film just blows my mind. It’s incredible to think that four years ago Iron Manhad released and already audiences were wanted more, even though they had no idea what “more” was.

Compared to the announcement trailer, the second full-length trailer offers more in-depth look at Loki and some other chaos that will ensue. But from what it seems, the antagonists are not as layered compared to what we will see when all of these titans come together to meet a common goal. Heads will most definitely butt.

The biggest test The Avengers film will have to face is how well Joss Whedon will be able to integrate five different films into one singular plot line. There has been a little intermingling within each of the five rungs on the ladder to The Avengers, but how on Earth will Whedon pull it off? I will tip my hat if they are able to pull this off well.
