Vengeance is on top of everyone’s mind in the new trailer for season 4 of HBO’s Game of Thrones. Thirsty for revenge and justice, no one will be safe with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Queen Cersei (Lena Headey), and the others who feel justice must be served. Check out the brand spanking new trailer, WITH A DRAGON, along with 50 screenshots after the break.
There are similar scenes that were shown in the first teaser trailer from mid-January, but this new full-length trailer is not pulling any punches once it gets going. With a dragon, new characters, and a special little bit at the end, winter is definitely drawing closer in Game of Thrones. I’m still sad to report that I have no idea what’s going on and have only still seen the first four episodes of the entire series. So my thoughts on this trailer will be brief and more journalistic as I do not want to spoil the show myself. From what I can tell, there may be some minor spoilers.
Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson), Cersei Lannister, Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance), and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), the whole gang is back – well those who were able to survive George R.R. Martin’s onslaught of everyone’s favorite characters. And then there is poor Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) in handcuffs. Season 4 of Game of Thrones seems bleaker than ever, from what I’ve been told, which will cover the second half of Martin’s “A Storm of Swords,” the third book in “A Song of Ice and Fire” series. Apparently some material from the fourth and fifth books may be added as well. Check out the trailer:
Through all of the depressing material, Game of Thrones fans may get down on the fact that some new actors will be replacing previous ones for certain characters. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson for Ian Whyte as Gregor Clegane, Dean-Charles Chapman for Callum Wharry as Tommen Baratheon, and Michiel Huisman replaces Ed Skrein as Daario Naharis.

As the events of season three of Game of Thrones seemed to have killed off many fan favorite characters, there are a lot of new faces popping up. For those who have read the books, such new characters includes the likes of Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal), Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma), Mace Tyrell (Roger Ashton-Griffiths), Tycho Nestorime (Mark Gatiss), Styr the Magnar of Thenn (Yuri Kolokolnikov), the Three-Eyed Crow (Struan Rodger), and a Child of the Forest (Octavia Alexandru).
How do you think season 4 is shaping up? What are you looking forward to seeing the most?
Game of Thrones Season 4 premieres April 6 at 9PM, only on HBO.
