‘Mortal Kombat X’ Announcement Trailer Makes a Hard Hitting Debut (93 Screenshots)

Motal Kombat X 2014 Announcement Trailer

NeathRealm Studios is back, but not with your favorite DC Superheroes and villains. Mortal Kombat X is NeatherRealm’s next, highly anticipated fighter with all of the gore and bone-shattering combos we’ve come to expect from the franchise. Watch the stunning next-gen announcement trailer with Scorpion vs. Sub-Zero after the break.

Like Injustice: Gods Among Us, it would appear NeatherRealm is taking a page from their playbook by incorporating interactive environments and weaponry to the Mortal Kombat franchise. One big difference, Mortal Kombat X will be on next-gen consoles. As you saw, the visuals are completely jaw dropping with every punch and rib breaking kick. This could be the most beautifully violent Mortal Kombat game to date.

Featuring an original track by Wiz Khalifa entitled “Can’t Be Stopped,” this hard hitting trailer packs quite the wallop on the senses. Since 2011, Mortal Kombat fans have been twiddling their thumbnails with nothing to quench their bloodlust. This incredibly graphic teaser should be enough to fulfill their appetite before its release.

It is not confirmed whether or not the entire video is all gameplay or cinematics and gameplay combined, but if it is, dear lord. The integration between gameplay fighting and cinematic violence is absolutely stunning.

Franchise creator Ed Boon teased this announcement on Twitter recently, but for those anticipating this teaser, gamers definitely got a lot more than they were expecting. We’ll find out more to Mortal Kombat X next week as we welcome the craziness of E3 2014.

We look forward to see what new modes will be available and hope the character roster will be revealed. My biggest question is how much of the pointy and acid soaked environments will players be able to use to obliterate their opponents?

Mortal Kombat X will be arriving at some point in 2015 on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC.
