Frozen's Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff Officially Cast for Once Upon a Time

ABC’s Once Upon a Time have found their actors who will portray the real life versions of Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff from the highly praised Walt Disney Animation feature Frozen. It was was announced this week that Scott Michael Foster (Greek) will play Kristoff, Austrialian actress Georgina Haig (Reckless) will play Elsa, and newcomer Elizabeth Lail will be Anna. Learn more details after the jump.

After much speculation, fans of Once Upon a Time were treated to a wonderful surprise at the very end of the season 3 finale, Elsa showed up to Storybrook. At the time, Haig was not cast as Elsa and the actress portraying her at the time was only used as a stand-in.

Casting hasn’t taken too long to nail down the actors portraying the iconic characters since the season 4 premiere will take place in September.

Executive producer Adam Horowitz told The Hollywood Reporter:

“We are dealing with the world of Frozen. We are honored to be allowed to do it. We loved the movie. We fell in love with it when it came out last year like everyone did, and we want to do our best to do it justice.”

Edward Kitsis, another executive producer on the show, reiterates Horowitz’s remarks, stating:

“[What] we loved so much about the character of Elsa was that she was considered a villain but she never really was. She was misunderstood. That, on our show, speaks to us so strongly, that it was a toy we had to play with.”

For now, it is unclear as to how the characters of Frozen will play a part in the world of Once Upon a Time, but I’m sure they will have a consider impact in the show’s ratings.

Disney’s Frozen featured the voices of Jonathan Groff, Kristen Bell, and Idina Menzel to bring the characters of Kristoff, Anna, and Elsa to life, respectively.

The fourth season of Once Upon a Time will premiere on September 28 at 8 pm/7 pm CST on ABC.
