Her Universe will be taking over San Diego Comic-Con with a one of a kind fashion show event. For one night, Thursday, July 25, geeks will rule the runway with a special after party performance by All Time Low, hosted by Hot Topic. Check out all the details on how you can attend after the break.
Two years in the making, the Her Universe Fashion Show will usher in a celebration of fangril culture and fashion. Thirty-six unique fashion designers – professional and amateur, male and female – from all over the country will be competing for two grand prizes: an opportunity for both winners to co-design a Her Universe fashion collection for Hot Topic. A panel of celebrity judges will be on hand to choose one winner while the audience will choose the other.
Actress and Her Universe Founder Ashley Eckstein says,
“The Her Universe Fashion Show is truly a celebration of the fangirl culture at San Diego Comic-Con, yet it’s an event that everyone will enjoy. We’ve been working hard with Hot Topic and Nerdist to ensure that it’s an exciting event with plenty of surprises!”
The judges will consist of Chloe Dykstra (Heroes of Cosplay); Justine Ezarik ( iJustine); designer and author Tarina Tarantino; Hot Topic SVP of Merchandising and Marketing Cindy Levitt; Hilly and Hannah Hindi (The Hillywood Show); Senior Manager Softlines of LucasFilm Tara Sinclair; and Product Development Head for Softlines, Fashion, and Accessories of LucasFilm Lacey Prince.
Attendees that are able to make it to the fashion show will also be treated to the Hot Topic after party with a special performance by pop punk band All Time Low. There will also be a surprise during the fashion show that will bring fans an exclusive announcement from Her Universe.
The Her Universe Fashion Show will take place at 6 pm on Thursday, July 24. Hosted at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel Harbor Ballroom, this FREE fashion show is first come-first served for SDCC badge holders. There are no tickets to this event. For those who miss the event, they’ll be able to check out all of the action online thanks to Nerdist.
