Earlier this month we got our first look at the characters of American Horror Story; Freak Show in action. FX has now released a new extended preview of scenes from the series itself. Delving into the dark reaches of the carnival, this may be the best season yet. But that isn’t saying much in my opinion. Watch the new footage after the jump.
Unlike Heroes, American Horror Story: Freak Show may have itself a good fourth season at the carnival. In this extended look at the new season, the story unfolds just a little bit more. All of the actors look great interacting with one another, and this may be Sarah Paulson’s best role on the show yet. I dig the tone and the look of everything, but I remain cautiously optimistic.
I have been very disinterested in American Horror Story ever since the first season proved to be underwhelming. In my mind, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have not delivered what I believed to have been promised. I don’t find the series to be very scary nor disturbing and it only consists of horror elements. However, I do applaud them for their ambition and conviction toward the mini-series. They’re really sticking to their guns. Regardless, I do think that maybe Freak Show will be able to convince me that AHS is more than just bizarre, soapy trash TV.
