The Netflix Streaming Report: Arrow, Supernatural, The Originals, and More

The Netflix Streaming Report Arrow, Supernatural, The Originals, and More

Welcome to your Netflix Streaming Report for October 9, 2014. After the long week you deserve a relaxing staycation with a bowl of popcorn, a bucket of ice cream, and only your Netflix queue to judge you. This past week, Netflix Watch Instant has been kind enough to supply us with Arrow (Season 2), Supernatural (Season 9), The Originals (Season 1), and more, which you’ll find after the break.

Arrow (Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg) (Season 2) Spoiled billionaire playboy Oliver Queen is missing and presumed dead when his yacht is lost at sea. He returns five years later a changed man, determined to clean up the city as a hooded vigilante armed with a bow.Stars:Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey

I haven’t seen Arrow, but my colleague Gwen says it’s a great watch for DC fans. It seems like an easy show to shut your brain off and enjoy the DC Universe in some capacity that isn’t tainted by Zack Snyder. (Watch it now)

In a World… (Lake Bell) An underachieving voice coach finds herself competing in the movie trailer voice-over profession against her arrogant father and his protege.  Starring Lake Bell, Jeff Garlin, Fred Melamed, and Demetri Martin

In a World came out last year and was widely praised by most critics. I think it’s OK. It has some good ideas and Lake Bell is charming, but the narrative just isn’t strong enough to keep my attention. If you think the world of voice over acting is interesting then you may enjoy this. Supernatural (Eric Kripke) (Season 9) Two brothers follow their father’s footsteps as “hunters” fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth. Starring Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver, and Misha Collins

I can’t believe there are nine seasons of Supernatural. There is almost 200 episodes of this show. And each episode is 45 minutes long. I have never seen an episode, and those numbers are almost too intimidating to make me want to begin watching it. The fandom on Tumblr is probably more amusing to witness than the show itself.
