Television on Blu-ray

Silicon Valley (Season 1) (Alec Berg and Mike Judge) Rated TV-MA [30 min] – Silicon Valley is set in the high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. The series charts the rising fortunes of Richard, an introverted computer programmer who lives in a “Hacker Hostel” start-up incubator along with his friends Big Head, Gilfoyle, and Dinesh. Starring Thomas Middleditch, Josh Brener, T.J. Miller, Martin Starr, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods, Matt Ross, and Christopher Evan Welch

I haven’t seen this show other than the hilarious scene depicted in the GIF above, which is absolutely fantastic. I’d definitely like to check this show out soon. Special features included are:

  • Making Silicon Valley: A behind-the-scenes look at the making of Silicon Valley
  • Tech Crunch: Disrupt!: Find out how Silicon Valley created their own Tech Crunch: Disrupt! conference
  • The Hacker Hostel: Take a tour through the Pied Piper headquarters
  • 8 Audio Commentaries with Mike Judge, Alec Berg, T.J. Miller and many more
  • Episode Previews

Veep (Season 3) (Armando Iannucci) Rated TM-VA [28 min] – Veep follows the whirlwind day-to-day existence of Vice President Selina Meyer as she puts out political fires in her public and private life while launching her campaign for president after learning that the commander-in-chief will not seek reelection. The release features all 10 episodes from the third season of the hit HBO series, along with hilarious, never-before-seen deleted scenes, among other to-be-announced extras. Starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, and Sufe Bradshaw

Haven’t had a second to check this show out either, but Julia Louis-Dreyfus doesn’t keep winning awards for nothing, right? I think this is definitely one I need to catch up on as well. Special features included are:

  • Audio Commentaries with the Entire Cast
  • Deleted Scenes

Video Games

MLB 15 The Show (Sony Computer Entertainment) [Available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita] The 10th edition of the franchise, MLB 15 The Show is a more immersive and exciting baseball experience than ever before with substantial improvements to both gameplay and graphics.

I’m not a fan of sports games, they’re rather repetitive with minor feature changes. However, I can see how those who enjoy the particular sport can really dive in and get a feel of all aspects of the game, from the players perspective and beyond. Key features here includes:

  • Licensed Equipment – For the first time ever, partnerships from various brands will bring accurate bats, gloves, cleats, and batting gloves to the game.
  • Year-to-Year Saves – Users who purchased MLB 14 The Show will be able to continue their Franchise and Road to the Show progress in MLB 15 The Show. Saves between the two releases will be forward-compatible, meaning you never have to worry about starting your Franchise or Road to the Show seasons over!
  • Universal Rewards – Simply playing the game earns Stubs that can be spent on licensed equipment, Road to The Show improvements, and virtual baseball cards.
  • Legends – We’re introducing 30 Iconic MLB Alumni into our virtual player card pool, 1 representative for each team. These players span every historic baseball era of the last 70 years. Like all of our Universal Rewards, you have a chance of finding a historic virtual player card to add to your collection and utilize throughout MLB 15 The Show.
  • Major Graphical Improvements – Visually, the introduction of real time seasonal sun and shadows, revamped night lighting, and enhanced player personality help make MLB 15 The Show the most authentic baseball experience yet. (PS4 Only)
