Halo 5 Guardians Comic-Con 2015 Panel

10:15am – 11:15am Hunt for the Truth: Following the Trail of the Halo 5: Guardians Story – Join 343 Industries and special guests as they examine the compelling and prolific storytelling in and around Halo 5: Guardians. The panel will bring new insight into the mysteries surrounding the Master Chief and build connections between the stories that have been told so far, and sneak peeks of the stories yet to be told in game and beyond. Bandai Namco Comic-Con 2015 Panel

1:00pm – 2:00pm BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Fighting Games 2015 – Katasuhiro Harada (Tekken series director) and a special guest discuss the artwork of Tekken 7, the 20th anniversary of the series, and all things Tekken. In addition, producers from Rise of Incarnates will be on hand to talk about this exciting new 2v2 action title, developed by Steam. Moderated by fighting game community celebrity Mark Julio, a.k.a. 1:00pm – 2:00pm Blue Marble Games: Improving Health-Care Outcomes, One Player at a Time – Games have a unique ability to engage and motivate players. Some games have been called a waste of time, but what if we could use games to monitor and improve our health? Blue Marble Game Company specializes in games to do just that. Bonnie Kennedy (Ph.D., OTR/L, chief science officer), Jacob Black (chief production officer), Paul Giovinco (staff artist), and Andrew Truman Neff (software engineer) divulge the challenges of building games as well as the complications and opportunities that arise when focusing on games for ADHD, fall prevention, and mild traumatic brain injuries. Assassin's Creed Syndicate Comic-Con 2015 Panel

2:00pm – 3:00pm Assassin’s Creed Syndicate: It’s Time for a Bloody Ruckus – Leave the swords behind and grab your brass knuckles as you rally the criminal underworld, bringing London’s corrupt leaders to their knees, as Britain’s first organized crime family in 1868. It’s time to front up and give the rival gangs a good going over, so drink up and get stuck in, because this year, you’ll come to understand what it truly means to be part of “the family.” Panelists Paul Amos and Victoria Atkin, who play twin Master Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye, will give you a behind-the-scenes look at what it means to be a Master Assassin and a leader of a crime syndicate. Creative director Marc-Alexis Cote will set the scene of Industrial Revolution London and how this gritty new time period is turning the world of Assassin’s Creed on its bloody ear. Director of the soon-to-be-released Universal film Straight Outta Compton, F. Gary Gray, will lend his directorial expertise in the world premiere of an Assassin’s Creed-inspired animated short. 2:00pm — 3:00pm Diversity and Queer Gaming – Diversity remains a hot topic in the media, and the year in gaming is no exception. How are new gaming platforms giving a voice to underserved groups of players? How does the “Gaymer” identity spill beyond the tabletop, and what role do minorities have to play in an industry that still doesn’t reflect its audience? Join Prism Comics and moderator Josh Trujillo (editor, Death Saves-Fallen Heroes of the Kitchen Table) for a wide-ranging discussion of diversity and roles in gaming, covering everything from Dungeons & Dragons to Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Panelists include Matthew Michael Browne (video game product manager), Matthew Conn (filmmaker, Gaming in Color), Philip Jones (filmmaker, Gaming in Color) and Jenni Villarreal (Loot Crate). 3:00pm – 4:00pm Creating Multiplayer Worlds: Storytelling in MMOs and MOBAs – Game industry veterans James Waugh (director of story development, Blizzard), George Krstic (senior writer, Riot Games), and Leah Hoyer (director of narrative, ArenaNet) discuss their paths into game narrative, the challenges they face creating game story, and the strategies they use to allow players to explore their characters within great gameplay experiences. They will also talk about the projects they are working on and leave lots of time for Q&A. Room 29AB

3:15pm – 4:15pm How to Get a Job in Video Games – Moderator Francis Mao (Capcom) and panelists shed light into the wide variety of professions available in the video game industry. You’ll find out that it’s not all programming and digital art, as a panel of industry insiders from various companies share the unique ways that they each got into the video game business, what they do each day, and suggestions on how you can get into the industry, too. Hear firsthand accounts from prior audience members who applied what they learned at this panel in previous years and eventually got into the video game business themselves. Room 6BCF

3:30pm – 4:30pm The World of Albion: The History and Future of the Groundbreaking Fable Series – Game director David Eckelberry and lead designer Alex Skidmore talk through the evolution of the award-winning Fable series. From its ambitious beginnings in 2004 on the original Xbox, the Fable series has always been innovative with an aim to push the industry forward. Fable’s latest incarnation, Fable Legends, is no exception, bringing cross-platform play and 4v1 multiplayer while maintaining the popular attributes of the franchise that players have come to love. 4:00pm – 5:00pm From Console to Comics: The Art of Video Games – Your favorite video games have expanded beyond your screen and into comics. Dark Horse editor Dave Marshall and panelists Nick Thornborrow (BioWare’s Dragon Age), Paul Tobin (The Witcher, Plants vs. Zombies), Christofer Emgård (DICE’s Mirror’s Edge), and others discuss bringing some of gaming’s most popular titles, including World of Warcraft, Halo, and more, to comics and art books. 4:30pm – 5:30pm The Synergy of Film and Video Games Collide – The film and video game industries collide when it comes to battling it out for the top spot in consumers’ choice of entertainment. However, just where and how do these two genres intertwine and how will this synergy impact the future for these two industries? After all, today you’d be hard pressed not to find a video game without cinematics and incredibly filmic cut scenes, and films are drawing from games in similar ways. 6:00pm — 7:00pm Marvel Heroes 2015: More Amazing, Incredible, and Invincible Than Ever! – Marvel Heroes just celebrated two years as one of the best free-to-play multiplayer PC gaming experiences, and it just keeps getting bigger and better (or, in some cases, smaller and better). See what Gazillion has in store for the rest of 2015 and beyond, including the game’s landmark 50th playable character. Expect some fun surprises, and come with some good questions for the Q&A session. Panelists include Gazillion’s own David Brevik (CEO and creator of Diablo), Ryan Collins (creative designer/community manager), Bridget MacFarland (game designer), Andrew Hair (gameplay engineer), and Chris Baker (senior social media manager). 6:45pm – 7:45pm Firefly Online: Return of the Browncoats – The highly anticipated next chapter in the Verse, Firefly Online (FFO), is here! Join Andy Gore (executive producer), John O’Neill (technical director), Andrea Romano (voice director, Batman: The Animated Series) and David Joseph Wesley (composer), with special guest appearances by voice actors Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Code Name S.T.E.A.M.) and Courtenay Taylor (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect 2 & 3), as they present the first and only officially licensed video game based on the cult-hit TV show Firefly.
