Day 3: Saturday’s Comic-Con 2015 Video Game Panels

12:00pm – 1:00pm World Building: Telling Stories in Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Federation Space, and that Galaxy Far, Far, Away – Creators who’ve worked in three of fandom’s most beloved franchises- Star Trek, Star Wars, and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, discuss the exciting, yet daunting task of telling new stories in universes that many hold so dear. How do you get started? What’s fair game and off-limits? Is the opportunity a nightmare or a dream come true? These are just a few of the topics that’ll be discussed by a distinguished group of panelists. Moderated by Eric Moro (Wikia’s VP of programming), panelists include superfans from Wookieepedia and the Shadow of Mordor Wikia, Michael de Plater (Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor), Marc Scott Zicree (Star Trek: TNG, Star Trek: DS9) and more! Deus Ex Mankined Divided Comic-Con 2015 Panel

3:30pm – 4:30pm The Art and Story of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Meet the development team for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Elias Toufexis, the actor who plays Adam Jensen. Get an exclusive look at the game, as the team provides insight into the creativity, goals, and inspiration that shape both the art direction and story of Mankind Divided. Eidos-Montréal is working with the renowned Titan Books, and will also give details about the upcoming transmedia initiatives that will expand the Deus Ex Universe. Room 24ABC

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Comic-Con 2015 Panel

4:15pm – 5:15pm LEGO Marvel’s Avengers: From Silver Screen to Videogame Console – Join Arthur Parsons (Game Director, TT Games), Matt Ellison (Producer, TT Games), Mike Jones (Executive Producer, Marvel Games), Bill Rosemann (Creative Director, Marvel Games) – and a special guest appearance by Marvel legend Stan Lee – as they present an inside look at LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, the first console videogame featuring characters and storylines from the critically-acclaimed film Marvel’s The Avengers and the blockbuster sequel Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, all combined with a splash of classic LEGO humor. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and Marvel Games, along with moderator Greg Miller (KindaFunny.com) are teaming up to provide a spirited panel discussion on this brand new, action-packed Super Hero adventure, including a live game-play demonstration, reveals of enhanced character team-up abilities and power-up features, new artwork, the latest game trailer and more. Rise of teh Tomb Raider Comic-Con 2015 Panel

5:00pm – 6:00pm The Evolution of an Icon in Rise of the Tomb Raider – Key leads from the award-winning Crystal Dynamics development team, Camilla Luddington (actress and voice of Lara Croft), Rhianna Pratchett (lead script writer), and others discuss the journey of one of the most iconic characters in entertainment history, Lara Croft, and offer an inside look into the story, performance, and technology bringing this multidimensional hero to life in her latest adventure Rise of the Tomb Raider. Room 25ABC

5:00pm – 6:00pm Future Toys: How AI, Robotics, Sensors, and Mobile Are Changing Play – Rob Maigret (chief creative officer at Sphero, Inc.), Brian Torney (design manager, new business group at Hasbro), Carly Gloge (CEO, co-founder of Ubooly), Oren Jacob (co-founder, CEO at ToyTalk, Inc.), Afsoun Yazdian (director, User Experience and Product Management, Licensing, Disney Consumer Products) and moderator Steve Broback (co-founder, Dent the Future) will discuss how new technologies such as AI, mobile computing, and robotics are powering the latest toys. They will also discuss which of our favorite comic book/media properties they align with and how unconventional tech/media giant collaborations are changing the future of play. Room 23ABC

6:00pm – 7:00pm Making the LEGO Fan Scene – So what happened in the past year on the LEGO fan scene? Joe Meno (editor, BrickJournal magazine) talks with Nathan Sawaya (LEGO certified professional builder), Tommy Williamson (BrickNerd blogger and Brickfilmer), Brandon Griffith (creator, STUDS cards and ComicBricks), and Paul Lee (LEGO artist) about the people, the models, and even the films that are leading the LEGO fan community in new creative directions. The panel will also discuss how to become part of the community, and take questions. Room 23ABC

6:00pm – 7:00pm The Geek Shall Inherit: A Look at the Evolution of Geek Culture – Geek culture has become mainstream, but it wasn’t always that way. Comic conventions have boomed in popularity, the cosplay community is thriving, and TCG tournaments are breaking attendance records. Dr. Billy San Juan (The Walking Dead Psychology, Magic: the Gathering judge), Jenna Busch (host/founder of Legion of Leia, Star Wars Psychology), Dr. Travis Langley (Game of Thrones Psychology, Doctor Who Psychology), Alan Kistler (Doctor Who: A History, The Walking Dead Psychology), Dr. Janina Scarlet (Superhero Therapy,Star Wars Psychology), Dr. Ali Mattu (The Psych Show, Super Fantastic Nerd Hour), Josué Cardona (Geek Therapy, The Walking Dead Psychology), Tim Shields (Cascade Games), and Matt Munson (The Project Workbench) explore the evolution of our beloved culture. 6:00pm – 7:00pm Voice Acting Workshop with Voice Actor Wally Wingert – Learn methods and techniques on how to be a successful voice actor from voiceover artist Wally Wingert (The Riddler from Batman: Arkham Game Series, Ant-Man from The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes). Wally will cover all aspects of voice acting (animation, video games, anime, commercials, promos, narration, singing) and participate in a Q&A session co-moderated by James Braddock and Mark Fullerton. 7:00pm – 8:00pm TeeFury: Shirts in the Pop-Culture Bubble – Karen Hallion (artist and illustrator), Crystal “Bamboota” Fontan (graphic designer and illustrator), Drew Wise (artist and illustrator), Dylan Hay-Chapman (graphic designer for TV and film), and John “Captain Ribman” Sprengelmeyer (award-winning illustrator/syndicated cartoonist) share their experiences as pioneers in the pop-culture shirt space and provide practical advice for independent artists. Q&A moderated by Tom Kurzanski (art director of TeeFury). Room 4

7:00pm – 8:00pm We Are All Heroes: The Changing Landscape of Comics, Geekdom, and Fanboy Culture – With the landscape of geekdom evolving, Cashmere Agency’s executive vice president Ryan Ford has assembled a star-studded, diverse panel to discuss the evolution of comic book, video gaming, and fanboy culture, and its growing popularity among a new audience-specifically African Americans, women, LGBTQ, and other minorities. Joined by Ryan Coogler (director, Dope), Murs (Hip Hop star), Michael Jai White (Dark Knight), Tyler James Williams (The Walkign Dead), Kristina Law (Arrow), and Kellvin Chavez (editor, Latino-review). Cashmere Agency has worked with a slew of titles in the geekdom community, including Star Wars, The Boondocks, Tekken, and Black Jesus. The panelists are eager to shed light on how minorities are not adequately portrayed within the entertainment genre. Room 14A

7:30pm – 8:30pm Obsidian Entertainment – Are you a fan of role playing games and ever wondered what goes into making them? Join the award winning team at Obsidian Entertainment for a unique interactive experience where you, the audience get to participate in the process of creating part of the upcoming expansion for Pillars of Eternity: The White March – Part II. Obsidian is going to make you, the audience part of the design process and walk you through what they do to create something in the game itself. This is a unique fun, opportunity for anyone who loves video games and wants to take a peek behind the curtain and help make the magic happen. Room 7AB

8:30pm – 9:30pm Gaia Online – Chris Castagnetto (DJ Helsing) is proud to be hosting the official Gaia Online panel. This is your chance to meet the Gaia staff, get your burning questions answered, and take a sneak peek at some of the great stuff Gaia Interactive has planned for 2015. Expect plenty of fun and some great prizes. Room 7AB
