Review: Funny People

film review smallWhatever you may have heard about this film, take it with a grain of salt and view this movie with an open mind. Funny People is anything you could want and more. Judd Apatow has created a wonderful film, which I believe is his best yet. This is Apatow’s third written and directed film after The 40-Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up. The Apatow bunch have definitely proved that they are more than just a bunch of chummy guys who make fart jokes and smoke pot. Apatow has put together a very moving, hilarious, and well written film.

THESE PEOPLE ARE FUNNY…

funny people

All hopes for Judd Apatow are fulfilled as the Funny People red band trailer has been released on Myspace. Woot woot. After tanking from writing Pineapple Express (I thought it was decent), Walk Hard, and You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, but being his third directed film, Apatow is redeeming himself by coming out with this movie. This trailer is hilarious and you should laugh and eventually go see this movie when it comes out July 31st. WATCH THIS TRAILER

Quick Notes Quatro

blog+scribbles

Here we go with some quick notes again. Quick Notes are articles and blips that I do not feel on typing out full news that could just be viewed in shorts that I don’t feel are as important to rant about. They are all just a bunch of random hooblah of sorts that fell into this little section of fun and goodness after the jump:

Funny Viral People

Judd Apatow and friends must be having fun with ‘Funny People’ and its marketing process. First a site based off a faux Tv high school show with Bo Burnham and now a new website. This website displays the character George Simmons (Adam Sandler). This website features all of his past and current work. It also has a short biography of the character to get a feel of who Simmons is. Check out his website here: George-Simmons and also check out the clip from Simmon’s movie ‘Sayonara Davey!’ with Ken Jeong below. I love viral marketing!

Bo Burnham and Judd Apatow Vs. HSM

boburnham

So there is a film collaboration in the works between Bo Burnham and Judd Apatow about a comedy/rock musical fighting back against the tyranny that is High School Musical. Bo has been asking on his Twitter for help on ideas to throw back at Apatow so they can get underway this fabulous idea of a movie. /Film has more about it here. I love Bo Burnham’s work he has done throughout his rising career that sprouted due to YouTube.
