Game console heavyweights Sony and Microsoft are gearing up for the release of their new game consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively. As November quickly approaches, both titans of gaming have unveiled their release titles and any extras that will coincide with the launch of each console. Check out a side by side comparison of what you can expect to find from the PS4 and Xbox One when they release November 15 and November 22 after the jump.
Yet another console war is upon us. Let’s first look at the price comparisons before we get into the nitty gritty.
| Xbox One | Playstation 4 | |
| Release Date (US) | November 22, 2013 | November 15, 2013 |
| Starting Price (USD) | $499.00 | $399.00 |
XBOX ONE
According to IGN, Xbox One will come with a number of bundle package options and pre-orders. Most retailers are accepting pre-orders.
Xbox One Bundles from GameStop
- Xbox One Ryse bundle
- Xbox One EA Sports bundle
- Xbox One Dead Rising 3 bundle
- Xbox One Kinect Sports bundle
- Xbox One Forza 5 bundle
- Xbox One Madden 25 bundle
- Xbox One Battlefield 4 bundle
And of course if those aren’t enough, Microsoft is offering its own Xbox One Day One Bundle. It is a limited edition version of the Xbox One and contains the following:
- Xbox One console with 500GB hard drive
- Blu-ray drive and Wi-Fi included in console
- Xbox One Kinect peripheral
- Xbox One Chat Headset
- Xbox One Wireless Controller
- HDMI Cable (Category 2)
- Free 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold
For pre-ordering the Day One Bundle, you also get:
- Premium black packaging
- Limited edition Xbox One Day One wireless controller
- Exclusive Day One Achievement
I must admit, a part of me feels like this is a huge marketing ploy to make up for the Xbox One Kinect Stipulation earlier this year that received a high level of backlash, but then again, I could be totally wrong.
PLAYSTATION 4
Sony has not announced any bundle packages as of yet, for the PS4, but I can only imagine they will have something up their sleeve before the it hits retailers. If not, the value added by the Xbox One’s Kinect technology may be worth the extra $100.00.
EXPECTED LAUNCH TITLES
At Gamescom this year, both Microsoft and Sony shared with gamers their upcoming exclusive launch titles. Below is that list, including future releases and titles that will be available for both consoles.

Neither console offers an exclusive title that has a great deal of anticipation. Xbox One offers 18 while the PS4 releases with 23. Some titles do not have launch dates yet, and others still have question marks floating around them, like Dark Sorcerer for the PS4.
Most gamers will probably be grabbing titles offered on both systems, like Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Watch Dogs, or Call of Duty: Ghosts.
It is still somewhat early to say for sure which titles will be winners, but given the current list and what history has taught us, I’d say, there won’t be a really solid game until mid-2014.
And of course if none of the above excite you, there is always Nintendo who are looking to price drop the Wii U on September 20.

Nice. I’ll be interested to see how PS4 game developers integrate the touchpad on the controller.
