Director Zack Snyder has delivered on his promise to reveal the Batmobile, but he has also gone above and beyond expectations by introducing Ben Affleck in the batsuit as well. This is the moment fans of the Batman have been waiting for, and it definitely signifies that Batman vs. Superman is well underway. Check out the full image after the break.

I won’t bore you with the details, because there are none. Here is Synder’s Tweet:

It’s not the greatest first look at the new Batman, but it’s cool nonetheless. However, the obvious plug for the Leica camera is a bit much. I wonder how many cameras he was given for that mention? And here is a larger version of the image (click to enlarge):

The design is very quaint from what we’re used to seeing in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. It is less armored and more squishy looking. The little bat ears are more classic than the straight up horns we have seen used in the past batsuits. There is a slight resemblance to the suit in the Rocksteady Studios‘ Arkham video games sans the forearm armor/gadgets. Attention should also be drawn to the new Batman logo. It’s much larger than we have seen and takes up the whole chest. The design is kind of similar to the symbol used in 2008. The front of the Batmobile is pretty cool too. Also kind of classic.

So what say you? How does Affleck look? Very brooding and dark I would say. When we see a clearer picture of the batsuit in action, we’ll see exactly how tactile it is. Will it be enough to take down Superman?

Starring alongside Affleck is Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Amy Adamsas Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.

The untitled Batman vs. Superman film is scheduled to release on May 6, 2016 against Marvel Studios’ Captain America 3.
