E3 2014: Lady Palutena Joins the ‘Super Smash Bros.’ Roster in Awesome Anime Trailer (112 Screenshots)

Super Smash Bros Lady Palutena Trailer

Not only did Nintendo announce big changes to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U by introducing NFC figurines at E3 2014, but they ended their press conference by introducing a new fighter. Lady Palutena from Kid Icarus will be joining the Super Smash Bros. roster to kick all sorts of tail. Check out her debut trailer and over 100 screenshots after the break.

How cool was that anime opening with Link versus Pit? I could watch an entire Super Smash Bros. movie in that form of animation. It’s really fun and awesome. The Goddess of Light from Kid Icarus comes equipped with such moves as Heavenly Light, Explosive Light, Warp, Reflect, Rocket Jump, Jump Glide, Counter, Super Speed, Angelic Missile, Celestial Fireworks, and her Final smash “Black Hole/Mega Laser.” Lady Palutena’s move set is very unique and looks like she will be quite the foe to take down on the battlefield.

Here’s a little bit about Palutena’s background:

Palutena is the Goddess of Light, rightful ruler of Angel Land and patron deity of and mother figure to Pit. She is kind-hearted and benevolent, as opposed to the cruel and malevolent Medusa. Despite being a divine goddess, Palutena also seems to be somewhat of a damsel-in-distress, as she was kidnapped and held captive by Medusa and needed to be rescued.

This roster is filling up pretty fast, with the likes of Mega ManVillager, and the Wii Fit Trainer announced at last year’s E3 and more recently Charizard and Greninja joining the fight, every gamer will have a great list of characters to choose from.
