‘Godzilla’ Strikes Terror on Blu-ray and DVD September 16

Godzilla 2014 Teaser Trailer Still Rawr

Gareth Edward’s Godzilla found its audience at Comic-Con and it’s only fair that the Blu-ray and DVD release of the film is announced right before it this year. Making a big splash at the box office this spring, $93 million its opening weekend, Godzilla has come back with a vengeance. Check out the slew of special features you can find on home video when it releases on September 16.

Say what you will about Godzilla – I know I had a few words about it myself (read my review) – but undertaking the revitalizing of the franchise after Roland Emmerich’s Godzilla (1998) starring Matthew Broderick was quite the task. Sixteen years later, the king of the monsters came back big time when it opened this May and the Blu-ray and DVD will have all the extra goodies to show you how it was done.

Godzilla‘s 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and 2-Disc DVD Special Edition contain the following special features:

  • MONARCH: Declassified – Discover explosive new evidence not contained in the film that unravels the massive cover-up to keep Godzilla’s existence a secret.
    • Operation: Lucky Dragon
    • MONARCH: The M.U.T.O. File
    • The Godzilla Revelation
  • The Legendary Godzilla – Go behind the scenes with filmmakers and cast for an even deeper look at the larger than life monsters in the film.
    • Godzilla: Force of Nature
    • A Whole New Level Of Destruction
    • Into The Void: The H.A.L.O. Jump
    • Ancient Enemy: The M.U.T.O.s
