All week Marvel Studio has been teasing bits and pieces of the culmination of Phase 2 of their cinematic universe. On display at their booth at Comic-Con were an array of different props from upcoming films such as Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man. What do these teases mean? Find out after the jump as we discuss the possibilities.

Beware, minor spoilers ahead.

First off we have Captain America’s (Chris Evans) newly designed motorcycle with his shield on it. I don’t believe this has any significance to the story, but it does offer motorcycle enthusiasts the chance to geek out.

And before we get to the big stuff, here we have our first look at the Ant-Man helmet which will be worn by Paul Rudd. It’s a pretty unique design that strays away from more of the open face look that the character dons in the comics. It will be cool to see it in action when the movie comes out on July 17, 2015.

Let’s dig into the good stuff, shall we?

First off is Loki’s staff. It’s in a containment unit. As many saw at the ends of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it is HYDRA who has it under their care, but we don’t know exactly how they are trying to harness its power. We’ll have to wait for more hints to get a grasp as to HYDRA’s plans. Did they use it to create Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch’s powers?

Next up is Captain America’s shield cracked into three pieces. Cap’s shield is made out of vibranium, which is a precious metal found in the African nation of Wakanda. Many Marvel fans know that Wakanda is the home of one Black Panther. We also know that a version of Ultron is comprised of vibranium. How do the two connect? Well, there has been reports that there were shoots done in South Africa to represent Wakanda, so we can assume that Ultron will be in search of vibranium to become unstoppable.

But what happens to Steve Rogers? We can only speculate that he lives based on no heroes every really dying, but this could mean bad news bears that they must overcome.

And finally we have two juicy teases. On the left is arm of Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) Hulkbuster armor. On the right we have what it appears to be a prototype Ultron that has the Avengers logo on it. Since Stark will be the one who develops Ultron for the good of humanity, we believe this will be one of his first designs that doesn’t work out too well. It’s pretty fierce looking. I’m more excited to see the Hulkbuster armor in action though.

For better or worse (trust us, it’s worse), his Tony Stark has devised a plan that won’t require him to put on the Iron Man suit anymore, and should allow Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the Hulk to get some much needed R&R as well. His solution is Ultron, self-aware, self-teaching, artificial intelligence designed to help assess threats, and direct Stark’s Iron Legion of drones to battle evildoers instead.

The only problem? Ultron (played by James Spader through performance-capture technology) lacks the human touch, and his superior intellect quickly determines that life on Earth would go a lot smoother if he just got rid of Public Enemy No. 1: Human beings. “Ultron sees the big picture and he goes, ‘Okay, we need radical change, which will be violent and appalling, in order to make everything better’; he’s not just going ‘Muhaha, soon I’ll rule!’” Whedon says, rubbing his hands together.

Starring Robert Downy Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark  Ruffalo, Scarlett Johnasson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader, Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to release May 1st, 2015 and is directed by Joss Whedon.
