Welcome to your Netflix Streaming Report for August 14, 2014. After the long week you deserve a relaxing staycation with a bowl of popcorn, a bucket of ice cream, and only your Netflix queue to judge you. This past week, Netflix Watch Instant has been kind enough to supply us with You’re Next, Nymphomaniac, Cosmos, and more, which you’ll find after the break.

You’re Next (Adam Wingard) When the Davison family comes under attack during their wedding anniversary getaway, the gang of mysterious killers soon learns that one of victims harbors a secret talent for fighting back. Starring Sharni Vinson, Joe Swanberg, Ti West, and Aj Bowen

One of my absolute favorite films of 2013, you won’t have more fun in a horror movie besides Tucker and Dale vs. Evil or The Cabin in the Woods – they’re both on Netflix too! You’re Next is another incredibly made semi-self aware horrors that pushes the norm and destroys expectations. Sharni Vinson is the final girl we’ve always dreamed for. (Watch it now)

Nymphomaniac Vol. 1 / Nymphomaniac Vo.l. 2 (Lars von Trier) A self-diagnosed nymphomaniac recounts her erotic experiences to the man who saved her after a beating. Starring Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, Stacy Martin, and Shia LaBeouf

Lars von Trier is hit or miss with me, but if you’re interested in a strange, unique four-hour narrative about a person who discusses their sexual past then stop watching YouTube clips of Charlie Sheen and check out Nymphomaniac. (Watch it now)

Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey (Ann Druyan, Seth MacFarlane, Brannon Braga) A documentary series that explores how we discovered the laws of nature and found our coordinates in space and time. Starring Neil deGrasse Tyson, Stoney Emshwiller, and Piotr Michael

This. All of this. And more. You won’t find a more awesome, engaging documentary series ever in your lifetime than Cosmos. (Watch it now)

Here’s three titles that also recently have been uploaded, but I haven’t seen them yet:

  • Stage Fright
  • AMC’s Low Winter Sun (Season 1)
  • The Nut Job

What will you be watching this weekend?

Look forward to more new titles from The Streaming Report every Thursday on TTRC. We hope you enjoy!
