It’s been only a week since the first trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron released, but Marvel and Disney want to spice up the pot with an extended look at the film. In it we find our heroes testing their might to prove who is worthy enough to pick up Mjolnir aka a superhero d*ck measuring contest. But there is an unwelcome guest that sees their efforts futile. Watch the clip after the break.
Now I have only watched this clip on mute, so I have no idea what they’re talking about. I can wager to guess based on the actions taking place, but I don’t want to spoil any of the jokes or dialogue. From what I’ve seen, this clip is rather fun and grounds our heroes to a more intimate setting. They’re laughing, drinking, and having a merry time. I can only imagine what fun Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is having at their expense. But if you notice closely, one Avenger almost has the last laugh.
Now understanding where the Marvel Cinematic Universe is headed in Phase 3 after their big announcements earlier today, I believe there is more to this clip than just some comic relief. It doesn’t set up much, but my theory is that this is just a small hint of what’s to come with our heroes dealing with mystical space dilemmas. With Thor: Ragnarok entering the scene, as well as Captain Marvel and Thanos, Mjolnir and Thor will have a lot of importance down the road me thinks.
There’s also two new scenes integrated in the actual trailer portion that we caught screenshots of for your viewing pleasure. One of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and one of Loki’s (Tom Hiddleston) staff.
