To say I’m excited about 20th Century Fox‘s attempt at rebooting the Fantastic Four is one of the biggest understatements I could make this year. With that said, the first teaser trailer does little to grow my anticipation with how underwhelming it is. Utilizing tactics from brooding superhero films, the X-Men franchise, and Interstellar, the Fantastic Four reboot has a long way to go before I am convinced of its necessity. It’s no secret that Marvel Studios is dominating the superhero scene with its Cinematic Universe, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and now Agent Carter. And although 20th Century Fox has done a fair job with the X-Men franchise, they haven’t quite hit the same level of success.
