Hot on the heels of its big Super Bowl spot featuring the Green Bay Packers earlier this month, a second full-length trailer has debuted for Pitch Perfect 2. The Barden Bellas will be back in action this May as they look to take on the world as Mighty Ducks 2 style as Team USA in the A Capella World Championships held in Copenhagen, Denmark. You’ll find the latest, patriotic trailer after the jump.

Perhaps the film’s use of  “Wrecking Ball” is a metaphor to represent the U.S.? As I’ve made mention in the past when the first trailer for Pitch Perfect 2 released, the movie reminds me of Rocky IV. And this trailer continues to validate my point.

Let me break it down for you in a way we can all understand, through GIFs:

The Bellas become too comfortable with their place in the world of a capella and a new challenger comes along, looking to take them down a notch

Apollo Creed Rocky IV America

Americans embarrass themselves on a public stage for the world to see

Rocky 4 Training Montage

A training session/montage will take place outside the confines of Barden University

They’ll discover who they are as a team to overcome their fears

The two titans of a capella, the Bellas and Das Sound Machine face off at the World Championships

In the end, the Bellas win only to deliver a message of peace and unifying the world.

The end. Watch the original trailer for Rocky IV below.

An official plot synopsis for Pitch Perfect 2 has still not been released, but here’s Elizabeth Banks log line from a recent interview with Yahoo:

“The girls are now graduating seniors. They’re coming to the end of their time as Bellas and figuring out how to sort of leave the nest and the comfort of each other’s friendship and figure out what they’re going to do with the rest of their lives.”

Directed by Elizabeth Banks, Pitch Perfect 2 stars Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld, Katey Sagal, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Skylar Astin, Hana Mae Lee, Esther Dean, Ben Platt, David Cross, Adam DeVine, Chrissie Fit, John Michael Higgins, and Birgitte Hjort Sørensen. This film finds its way into theaters on May 15, 2015.
