Greatest Sports Team Entrance Video Ever, EVER

You cannot really understand the awesomeness of the all powerful entrance video of the Alaska Nanooks hockey team until you have seen it yourself. This is probably the coolest computer animated video for a sports team ever and more teams need to recognize the designers behind it. Produced by Mike Martinez, directed by Jon Dorfman and Szymon Weglarski, written by Mike Martinez, Jon Dorfman and Szymon Weglarski. The Visual FX team is HiFi 3D.

Super Bowl 44 Commercial Criticism

Yeah it’s been a month since I wrote these notes down and Super Bowl XLIV ended, but I figured might as well get it off my chest aka my desktop. So as the commercials piled up during the big game, I took a few notes on each one with criticism. I can say that there were hardly any good commercials and most were just sub-par. Some are just bad. What happened to Super Bowl commercials? Well how about we get into this shall we…… check out my Super Bowl commercial breakdowns after the jump……

Neato: Creative Root Beer Composer

For Mozart’s birthday, Internet sensation, MysteryGuitarMan, really wanted to celebrate by playing the Overture of “Die Zauberflöte” by Mozart……played on root beer bottles. This is a pretty fun video. It’s not just the music that is incredible, his motions are pretty funny while he’s playing. Continue after the jump to be musically inspired by root beer!

Box Office Battlefield: Percy Jackson, The wolfman, and Valentine’s Day

Ohhh boy, Valentine’s Day weekend is here and of course there are mushy gushy movies for you to enjoy with your significant other, or maybe by yourself while you’re crying in the corner of the theater…… Either way there are some interesting movies that might grab your attention this weekend, but may leave you feeling empty like that heart shaped box of chocolates that you bought that one girl who ended up having a boyfriend and then you devoured them later that night with a box of tissues with the lights off watching Never Been Kissed……

2010 Academy Award Nominated Best Animated Short – Logorama

One of the Oscar-nominated films, Logorama, for the best animated short has popped up online. It is pretty cool and would only assume that it has at least over 1,000 different logos from all sorts of areas in it. Written and directed by the French team of François Alaux and Herve de Crecy, this little film took a few years to create.

I’m guessing due to copyright laws and hunting down the right people to be able to use the logos. And the animation itself is pretty neatly done. There are so many logos in this, one could assume that it is flooded with so many brands that it is trying to tell us that we are bombarded with so much crap these days that it just destroys and desensitizes us. Clíché? Maybe? That’s probably too obvious that it’s right. You are probably calling me an idiot and saying, DUH, right now.

Check it out after the jump!

Dear John Takes Down Avatar?!

Kind of late news, but the fact that Dear John took down the mighty Avatar this past weekend makes me happy and sad. Happy because Avatar is finally not number one, but sad because Dear John didn’t seem like a really good movie to bring down the titan. Oh well…Jimmy Cameron is probably not pleased. I would have thought that a Avatar would have been taken down this weekend with The Wolfman, Valetine’s Day, and Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Theif. Those seem like some big money making films, but Dear John? Really? That movie didn’t seem like it would be that good, but I take it girls wanted something for them and sick of blue alien romance. Dear John managed to take in around $30 million as Avatar only got $23 million. Ca-ca-ca-curazy! Avatar will hopefully and most likely never be #1 again in the box office as the upcoming weekends look pretty slick. Valentine’s Day is my prediction for top earner this weekend since obviously it is Single’s Awareness Day………

Box Office Battlefield: Crazy Heart, Dear John, and From Paris With Love

Avatar is still crushing records and leading the box office. Who are the contenders to take down the mighty giant this weekend of February 5, 2010? Well we’ll see if the three new films this weekend that come out are worth your money and I’ll tell you if it’s worth your time.

Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland Character Posters!

MTV got an exclusive premier of two new character posters for Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland. These posters feature the Cheshire Cat (voiced by Stephen Fry) and the White Rabbit (voiced by Michael Sheen). Pretty cool looking if I do say so myself. Enjoy.
