Brad Bird Confirms Involvement with 'The Incredibles 2' for Pixar

Animated sequels are an interesting business. They’re more easy to make since all the character models have been created, but rarely do they come across as sincere and it’s much harder to appease expectations the second time around. If there is one animated sequel I would ever want to see made it’s The Incredibles 2, which was confirmed in development a year ago by Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger. Despite George Clooney’s character, Frank Walker, being afraid of a clock ticking down to the imminent future, Disney fans have been eager for May 22 to come around so Tomorrowland can reveal its secrets. A second trailer has just been released, unveiling more of the story and giving us a better idea of who these characters are. Most folks may recognize Tomorrowland as the theme park attraction from Disneyland. But for those following Disney Studios closely know that it’s their next live-action film under the direction of Brad Bird (The Incredibles; Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol). An original, sci-fi story co-written by Bird and Damon Lindelof (ABC’s LOST; Prometheus), the dynamic duo made an appearance at D23 Expo today to show attendees a sneak peek at some “found footage” that inspired the upcoming film.
