TeeHee: True Grit Literal Translation Subtitles

College Humor can be hit or miss depending on their target. This True Grit literal translation for Jeff Bridge’s dialogue as Rooster Cogburn is a hit; obviously that’s why I am posting it. I could tell what he was saying when I saw the film, but it is just funnier to imagine what he is saying with his mumbling speech subtitles in this video. Check it out after the break!

The First Spectacular Tron: Legacy Trailer

The first official trailer for Tron Legacy decided to pop up during this crazy viral marketing campaign. The campaign is much like 42 Entertainment’s marketing for The Dark Knight. This trailer looks amazing and if you weren’t excited for this film before than this will definitely reinforce your opinion towards a positive manner. The cinematography and visual effects are just eye candy. This for sure looks like a great sequel and could even get people out who don’t even know what Tron is, just like what The Dark Knight did for Batman or J.J. Abrams did for Star Trek and make it a little more mainstream. yeh? Maybe. I think people will definitely check it out.

Tron Guy is definitely going to have to rethink his costume.

Check out the trailer and screen caps after the jump:

A Story So Unbelievable…It Has To Be True?

the men who stare at goats

Take a look at this little comedy full of stars, The Men Who Stare At Goats. This stars George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor, and Kevin Spacey. In this quirky dark comedy inspired by a real life story you will hardly believe is actually true, astonishing revelations about a top-secret wing of the U.S. military come to light when a reporter encounters an enigmatic Special Forces operator on a mind-boggling mission. Reporter Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor) is in search of his next big story when he encounters Lyn Cassady (Academy Award®winner George Clooney), a shadowy figure who claims to be part of an experimental U.S. military unit. According to Cassady, the New Earth Army is changing the way wars are fought. A legion of “Warrior Monks” with unparalleled psychic powers can read the enemy’s thoughts, pass through solid walls, and even kill a goat simply by staring at it. Now, the program’s founder, Bill Django (Oscar® nominee Jeff Bridges), has gone missing and Cassady’s mission is to find him. Intrigued by his new acquaintance’s far-fetched stories, Bob impulsively decides to accompany him on the search. When the pair tracks Django to a clandestine training camp run by renegade psychic Larry Hooper (two-time Oscar® winner Kevin Spacey), the reporter is trapped in the middle of a grudge match between the forces of Django’s New Earth Army and Hooper’s personal militia of super soldiers. In order to survive this wild adventure, Bob will have to outwit an enemy he never thought possible. The Men Who Stare at Goats was inspired by Jon Ronson’s non-fiction bestseller of the same name, an eye-opening and often hilarious exploration of the government’s attempts to harness paranormal abilities to combat its enemies. – Apple.com

Crappy Tron: Legacy Footage from SDCC

Check this out before it gets torn down from the Interweb. This was shown during San Diego Comic Con ’09. It shows some good action bike scene from the new Tron Sequel, possibly called Tron Legacy. This scene also includes Jeff Bridges from what I can tell.

Flynn’s Arcade – TRON 2 Viral Marketing Begins

Picture 2

So if you went to Comic Con you might have gotten some Flynn’s Arcade tokens. This is just the first step to the viral marketin campaign that is Tron 2. Wellllll this series of events have led people to FlynnLives.com and HomeOfTron.com. If you click on the bouncing spider on the bottom of FL you’ll get a countdown to something unknown obviously. There is also a message that read:

“Meet us at the cul de sac near the corner
of 1st and J when the numbers run out.
You’ll know who we are.”

If my math is correct tomorrow at 11:30 PM you should go to that cul de sac on 1st and J wherever that is and meet some people. Could this be another Dark Knight like campaign? Could be? I love viral marketing thought, but not too sure if I am excited for this movie………

TRON 2, the Plot Thickens

tron guy-thumb

Thanks to Disney, they have revealed a somewhat of a plot synopsis of what TRON will be about when it is remade into whatever it will be. Maybe TRON guy will get a special guest cameo. We could only hope…..

“TRON is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.”
