And Here We Go, Transformers 3 Talks

bb3-tf3

Welp, it has finally come to that day. Reports from Mr. Bay’s website/blog:

Nelson here…

I spoke to Michael today and he had a little update on his future projects:

  • He will be meeting later this week with Steven Spielberg, and Ehren Kruger to discuss ideas for Transformers 3. By the end of the week he should have an idea if Transformers 3 will hit your local cineplex in the summer of 2011 or 2012.
  • In the meantime “Pain & Gain” is looking very possible as is…
  • …Bad Boys 3. Either film coming to a theater near you before or after Transformers 3.

So this could be scary, hairy, weary, and everything inbetween……I expect all story to be thrown out of the windows by now and I’m sure Megatron will be dry humping Optimus Primes leg or something.

Revenge of the Fallen Has Fallen A Tad Short

MICHAEL BAY BOOM DEVIL

So the 5 day weekend for the epic throw up that is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has come to a close. The results are in and it falls short of the domestic 5 day box office records, which is held by the Dark Knight with $203.8 million. Transformers fell short with a measily $201.2 million, snap, so close, but at least quality prevails in this epic battle. But this has proven to be the highest grossing worst rated film ever. With the calculations of the overseas box offices, the total count comes to a little over $400 million. This battle between critics and box office ratings proves that critics views have no effect on the public as ROTF has gained more money than predicted. It also broke the IMAX box office record for an opening, but with so many IMAX screens popping up, the number becomes a tad useless. Will this push Paramount and Michael Bay to shoot for a 2011 date or will Bay stick to his 2012 date? Will Michael Bay even do the third, or even Orci and Kurtzman? WHO KNOWS?!?!? Let’s hope there is another writers strike and the next movie has robots having sex, might as well just add both of Bay’s elements together to make another pile of crap that makes more money than you do in your lifetime….

Review: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

film review

Here it is my Review for Transformers: ROTF. Ultimately all my film reviews will be like the image at the end of the review that you can enlarge and view in the Film Review Section of my blog. Now with no more waiting, I give you my review:

The behemoth that is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has plopped in our laps. This epic sequel was directed by Michael Bay, written by Ehren Kruger (Scream 3), Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (both MI: 3, Star Trek, The Island). Of course this couldn’t be a hit without Shia LaBeouf and the woman on top of the world, Megan Fox along with Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Ramon Rodriguez and Isabel Lucas (who could have been more attractive than Fox in the film).

Revenge of the Fallen Slaps Potter in the Face

The results are in, Variety reports that Revenge of the Fallen has surpassed ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ as the number one money making movie for a Wednesday release with $60.6 million. The previous record was only just a measily $44.2 mil. ROTF has opened in more than 4,200 theaters, 169 IMAX screens, and is projected to reach $150 mil in the five day release mark. It is already named the highest grossing overseas for the weekend. Mr. Bay you are going to be laughing on the way to the bank again aren’t you you silly little man.

Transformers: ROTF Writer Interview

TF2SteelPoster

SuperheroHype! got a chance to sit down with the writer’s of ROTF Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, minus Ehren Kruger. SHH interviewed the writers and talked all about their new movie and the process that led to this $200 million  extravaganza of a summer popcorn blockbuster alien robot epic of a film; also a few other things that are in the works for the creative dynamic duo.

SHH!: What about pressures of writing a sequel? When you wrote the first one, no one knew it was going to do that well, but as you wrote the second one, was there a lot of pressure to fit in stuff you weren’t able to do the first time?

Kurtzman: I think frankly, you have to tune out the noise, both of the first movie and just what the expectations are for the sequel. You find the emotional link that you have to the movie and you write to that, and working with Michael, you always know that the action is going to be big. Our job is to actually focus on the small things and hope that the emotional story can be told within the context of the movie Michael wants to make.
Orci: Luckily, there were a lot of things from the first movie that we didn’t get to do, so that we already had some material going into this one.”

The Bayformers Are Done! (Updated)

MICHAEL BAY BOOM

TotalFilm has reported that the Baydomonium is over! He has thrown in the towel and will not be doing Transformers 3. The little guy must be a little upset because he claims, “They (the critics) review me before they’ve even seen the movie.” Poor Mr. Bay, maybe we’ll get a Transformers movie that sticks to plot and has a good/real Transformers story. We can finally leave the plot holes, robot testies, robots peeing, retardobots, car commercial filming and whack stories behind us as this marks a tremendous day in history. I’m sure the geewhuners are rioting in the streets in celebration and harmony.……

Update, unfortunately Mr. Bay responds back on his website saying, “Hah, love press how they spin. Never said it – just wanted a vacation is more to the point. And no I don’t read the good or the bad reviews.”
