We’re almost there. With just a few waning months until the summer, Marvel’s The Avengers is creeping up faster than you can say “excelsior!” As one of the most anticipated films of the year, this trailer is packed full of visual eye candy to hold you over until May.
Excelsior! The first epic trailer for the superhero orgy known as The Avengers has released this week. We finally get to feast our eyes on everything that has been building up for the last three years since the first Marvel movie in this superhero series debuted in 2008. This past Saturday, July 24, at the San Diego Comic-Con, shall be marked as one of the most epic gatherings for a film collaboration in geek history. The full major cast of The Avengers appeared on stage at the end of the Marvel Studios panel with confirmation of Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk and Joss Whedon as the director. Of course we knew of Joss Whedon directing, but this is an official confirmation along with the rumors going around about Renner and Ruffalo. As you might wonder, what happened to Edward Norton? Norton will not be reprising his role due to conflicting interests of Marvel Studios, but Norton left fans a note claiming it was not as bitter as Kevin Feige made it out to be. But all things aside, check out the footage from Comic-Con of the announcements of the cast and the fanboys/girls going crazy after the break!

The second full length trailer for the epic superhero franchise, Iron Man 2, has been released tonight after the Oscars. It sure is pretty spiffy and has tons of flashy explosions, girls, and hot new armors. Does this film still hold up to the gusto of the franchise or will it fall flat like Spider-man 3 did with all it’s characters? You decide. This trailer has a ton of new footage that helps link things together. It may give away almost too much, but it might have to if it wants to regain its fans and grab more attention to the not fanboys and girls out there.
You can see Iron Man opening in conventional theaters and IMAX on May 7, the Jon Favreau-directed sequel stars Robert DowneyJr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Iron Man 2 is getting hot, but at the same time leaving everyone in the cold. WHAT DO THESE CLUES MEAN?!?!?!?!? This second poster reveals very little with just another highlighted word and a possible Thor like connection?! Ugh. Not only does Whiplash, played by Mickey Rourke, in Iron Man 2 get his own poster, but let the VIRAL MARKETING BEGIN!!! Hurray! I love viral marketing. It makes movies more interesting and fun sometimes if it allows a good build up of story and information leading to the end result which is the film. I can’t wait to see where this goes.
