The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra Trailer

Not only was the movie, The Last Airbender, a horrible adaptation of a great animated series, but it was a complete insult to everything that  Avatar: The Last Airbender had created. With hopes of redemption, I believe that The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra will make up for M. Night Shamalamadingdong’s failure and save this once great franchise. At this year’s Comic-Con, the folks at Nickelodeon had brought the first trailer for The Legend of Korra and it was more than anyone could have dreamed of. Watch the spectacular trailer after the jump!

Now I’m not too keen on the name right now with “The Last Airbender” as part of it, but perhaps that will have a special meaning. I would think they would have had “Avatar” as the first half of the title, but like I said perhaps there is a reason for that as she searches to master the last of the four elements, air. I had written about the synopsis of the new saga and it definitely had me intrigued, but not as much as seeing the trailer.

This trailer is beautiful, perhaps one of the biggest highlights of Comic-Con this year. The animation looks like it has improved, not considerably to make the first saga look bad, but just more refined and sleeker.

This series takes place 70 years after the events of Aang, Sakka, and Kotara defeating the fire lord to save the world. Now we see tall skyscrappers, cities in harmony, and even bending matches as sport with a stage like a Pokémon areana. There are even metal bending cops too thanks to Soph!

I can’t wait to see how this story unfolds and if it is anything like the original series than I will be more than happy to park myself in front the screen each week.

  1. Oh lord, I agree. The movie sucked.
I heard that TLA:LOK is supposed to be set sort of like the 1920’s if it happened in China. Sounds cool!
