The nominees for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards have been announced. That’s right, as we have already seen with the SAG Award nominations and NYFCC Awards, we cannot escape the season. As far as the Golden Globes go, we are given a decent picture as to who will be nominated for Oscars. See the full list of nominees for the 2013 Golden Globes after the break.
Much like the Golden Globes, there are also a few strange dark horses that caught many by surprise. Films such as The Master and Beasts of the Southern Wild, who were critically praised this year, were completely snubbed from the competition. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel have gained steam picking up a few nods – I’m sure that won’t last.
Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln is the big frontrunner taking claim to seven nods while Argo and Django Unchained gained five each. Zero Dark Thirty, Les Misérables, and Silver Linings Playbook have all earned four nominations; Life of Pi grabbed three.
When it comes to television, we’ve practically seen the same nominees for the past few years, but as a huge turn of events, Mad Men was nowhere to be seen other than Jon Hamm’s nomination. I still cannot understand the appeal of Jessica Lange in American Horror Story, her recognition for the past year continues to baffle me.
What do Megan Fox, Ed Helms, and Jessica Alba all have in common other than their inability to successfully lead a movie? They were the official announcers of the nominees for the 2013 Golden Globes. It’s a long road to the Oscars, check out the list of nominees below:

After Ricky Gervais’ long lasting hosting tour, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be taking the reins. Will their girl power be enough to draw in a crowd, or has the controversial comedian been the main reason for the ratings boost?
The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards will present on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 5 pm PST, at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton.
