Last night the Writers Guild of America had their little get together to announce their favorites of 2013. Her (Spike Jonze) and Captain Phillips (Billy Ray) walked away with the top honors for Best Original and Best Adapted Screenplays, respectively. Two choices that were big surprises at the awards last night. It’s always fun to shake things up during Oscar season and there’s no better awards than screenplays to keep us on our toes. 66th Annual Directors Guild Awards Nominees Announced

As the road to Oscar carries on, the competition for Best Picture is not keeping calm. At the 66th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards, the top honor went to Alfonso Cuarón, who has previous won at the Critics Choice and Golden Globes. 12 Years a Slave and Gravity have been neck and neck, vying for votes and smashing expectations everywhere. With this win, it would seem as though Cuarón has this one in the bag for Best Director, but I wouldn’t count Slave out of the running for Best Picture. 20th Annual SAG Awards Winners List

It was a pretty big night for awards season frontrunners at the 20th Annual SAG Awards. Everyone you pretty much expected to walk away with the Actor did. American Hustle took home the big prize for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, while Breaking Bad and Modern Family took it home for their respective televison categories for drama and comedy. Although the night was full of non-surprises, it was however a great night for acceptance speeches, especially from Lupita Nyong’o, Bryan Cranston, and Rita Moreno. 66th Annual Directors Guild Awards Nominees Announced

The 66th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards nominees were announced yesterday with Gravity, Captain Phillips, 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, and The Wolf of Wall Street each earning recognition. The DGA Awards are usually sought at as one of the biggest indicators of Oscar. Winners will be announced January 25. As we head into the weekend with the Golden Globes, the road to the Academy Awards is beginning to shape up very nicely. 2014 Producers Guild Awards Nominees Announced

The nominees for the 25th Annual Producers Guild of America Awards were announced this week as awards season picks up after the holidays. There are only four categories for film, the big one being The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures. Most of the films we’ve seen from other organizational honors this year have been nominated while Inside Llewyn Davis and The Butler have been left out in the cold. Let the chaos begin! All year the movie studios have been delivering over hundreds of films for your viewing pleasure, and now awards season has officially kicked off with the announcement of the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards nominees. Clark Gregg (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD) and Sasha Alexander (Rizzoli & Isles) were on the scene this morning to read off the list of nominees in six film and nine television categories. 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Nominations

It’s been an incredible year of television since last year’s Emmy Awards. Netflix has gone full scale assault on traditional television with the return of Arrested Development and House of Cards, earning themselves a handful of nominations. But it is FX that should be proud of American Horror Story: Asylum with its 17 Emmy nominations. HBO’s Game of Thrones follows closely with 16 nominations itself, while the regulars, including Modern Family, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, and Breaking Bad return for another round of awards.
