Marvel Studios Releases New ‘Thor: The Dark World’ Poster

Marvel Studios Releases New Thor The Dark World Poster

Iron Man 3 is well behind us now and Marvel Studios has begun to make the big push forward with Thor: The Dark World with the release of an epic new poster. Featuring the full cast, the very detailed poster gives us a great glimpse as to what kind of tone audiences will find when they sit their butts in theaters this fall on November 8. See the full poster after the break.

In the aftermath of Comic-Con, only those who attended the mega Hall H Marvel Studios panel were treated to the brand new footage from Thor: The Dark World. From what I’ve heard, since I did not want to test my luck in line for Hall H, the clips shown in Hall H felt very Game of Thrones-esque. I wouldn’t doubt that since the director, Alan Taylor, has worked on various episodes of the show himself.

The studio has not yet released the footage to the public, but thankfully we have this awesome poster to hold us over until the next trailer hits the Interwebs soon. The first teaser trailer debuted soon after the first teaser poster did, so let’s cross our fingers hoping for the first full theatrical trailer. With just under four months to go, we should find a trailer shortly.

Here is the official plot synopsis of Thor: The Dark World:

In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
