While the first trailer for Disney’s upcoming, live-action adaptation of Cinderella focused more on reassuring audiences that this would be the story they know and love, this second trailer delves more into uncharted territory. Questions of human values and moral compass are raised as well as a more sinister plot from the wicked stepmother is revealed. Although this iteration looks like it will stick close to the story Disney original told in 1950, there seems to be a few twists added for this generation of moviegoers. Luckily for them it will be released on Blu-ray and DVD February 4th, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Starring the up and coming Douglas Booth (next in the highly anticipated Jupiter Ascending) and wonderful Hailee Steinfeld (Ender’s Game; True Grit), this new take on the Romeo and Juliet brings fresh new faces to revive the classic. Last time we saw the god of thunder in his own standalone picture was back in 2011. And despite the Thor universe being less grounded in reality than any superhero movie we’ve seen before, Marvel Studios stood their ground, took a chance on the character, and raked in a respectable $449.3 million worldwide at the box office.
