“Welcome to Night Vale” Tumblr Meetup [@2:30 pm – 4:30 pm]

Tumblr will host its fourth annual SDCC fandom Tumblr Meetup, this year’s bringing together the fans of “Welcome to Night Vale” — the twice-monthly podcast in the style of a radio show that broadcasts community updates for the fictional town of Night Vale. The show premiered in 2012 and the fandom quickly exploded on Tumblr with an ever-growing stream of new blogs, fan art, and conspiracy theories. The authors of popular podcast will release a novel this October, and will appear alongside surprise guests from the cast for their Tumblr fans in San Diego. The meetup will include activities that all those who “hail the mighty glow cloud” will understand, like an intern sign-up station, third-eye tattooing, giveaways of custom-WTNV swag, and of course, live readings from the authors. Free, all ages, first come, first serve, no badges necessary.

Doctor Who Fan Meet Up [@2:30 pm – 4:30 pm]
Where: House of Blues Cost: Free
Activities include a Whovian dance party with music mixed by DJ Eclectic Method, a Weeping Angel photo booth, a DW (temporary) tattoo station, a live game show, and surprise special guests. Anyone is invited to the meetup, you don’t even need a Comic Con badge to attend, and it’s first come, first served. Also, we encourage cosplay, so get your attack eyebrows ready.

Well, if you thought your Anglophilia had reached peak levels before, you’re going to need an EpiPen full of Vegemite and crumpets because the Nerdist Podcast Live is making its triumphant return to San Diego Comic-Con with a double dose of brilliant British guests. Sir Ben Kingsley and Peter Capaldi, the Doctor himself, will be guests of the live podcast.

X-Men Days of Future Past Rogue Cut

To celebrate the home entertainment release of the X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut Blu-ray on July 14th, fans and VIP guests will be treated to an advance screening of the never-before-seen extended version of the film, including more action, more excitement…and more Rogue! The film will be shown simultaneously on four screens, and super-fans at Comic-Con will have the opportunity to gain two VIP (guaranteed) access tickets to the screening by purchasing the X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut Blu-ray through The Fox booths on the Comic-con show floor (Booth #s 4229) or The Nerd HQ/IGN Lounge (Children’s Museum).

Night of the Living Dead Darkest Dawn

“Darkest Dawn” is a fully, CG-take, on George Romero’s 1968 original Night of the Living Dead, and stars the voices of Tony Todd, Danielle Harris, Bill Moseley, R. Madhavan, Joseph Pilato and Tom Sizemore. This special world premiere event at PETCO Park during SDCC at the zombie-themed Walker Stalker Fan Fest will be full of zombies, cast members, and more. This comes with a free digital stream and theatrical movie poster. There is 1also a VIP after party with Joseph Pilato (21+).
