Bob Iger, Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, announced this morning that Pixar has included Cars 3 and The Incredibles 2 to its roster of upcoming films in development. This announcement was made during the company’s shareholders meeting in Portland, Oregon, while providing more details about the productions. It appears as though Helena Bonham Carter will be returning as the Red Queen in Disney’s Alice in Wonderland sequel, Through the Looking Glass, expected to release in May 2016. Variety reports that Helena is in the final stages of her contract to reprise her infamous role. Joining Helena Bonham Carter will be Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and Alice Kingsleigh (Mia Wasikowska), with Sasha Baron Cohen rumored to appear as well. Continue reading
According to a report from The Wrap, Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo; Her) is in serious negotiations to play Tiger Lily in Joe Wright’s Pan, due to hit theaters next year. Gamers and moviegoers rejoice! The Last of Us, one of 2013’s most critically acclaimed and celebrated PlayStation 3 games of all time, has officially received the green light for a live action movie adaptation. No release date has been announced yet, but Screen Gems has signed on to distribute the iflm with the creative director of the game, Neil Druckmann, writing the screenplay.
